No More Apple Bowl?
#91
MonsterMan Wrote:It helps to see one person from Paintsville admit anything to JC! The Apple Bowl was nice and good for fans, but proves nothing anymore. The state title for JC does not go through Paintsville or the Apple Bowl. We need to move on to the Fort Thomas Highlands, Covington Catholics and anyone else in the top of 5A we can get to play to prepare us.

There you go !!!

Maybe Bluegrassrivals will start a school testing competition site and you will have a place to post with dignity! If Paintsville gets beat at in acadmeic competion do they quit too?

You are the one that stated the academics thing first.

Last one then. Monsterman started it. I just showed the facts. But, I guess it's fine to to talk about classy ones and other admins and other horse s**t which has no fact or nothing to do with the Apple Bowl. Nothing but a bunch of god **** hypocrites.

See I make a positive post on here earlier and people don't give a s**t. But I put one fact in here and people just jump like flies on s**t. I'm done with all of it. Good Luck to both. In what ever happens.

Are not yoy the one that said JC passed PHS a long time ago in academics?Maybe some on here wanted proof.
Only people from JC have been on here complaining that people from HS need to admit that JC has a better football program than PHS does now....well heck....we have done that repeatedly!!! Some of you just can't believe we said it and let it go.

Central does more with less than any high school in the area. Of our students, if you compare the families' average incomes and education levels against other schools in the area (especially the city independent schools), I guarantee you will see overachievement across the board at JCHS. To take a bunch of kids who come from "the hollers" and families where nobody's graduated from high school (much less college) and be competitive...that's an amazing feat.

And that has as much as to do with football as it does with anything else. If you don't take pride in your academics, you won't take pride in anything else you do. The schools that win championships - St. X, Trinity, Highlands, Beechwood, et cetera - you'll find they rank high academically as well. Why? Because if you care, you care about EVERYTHING you do. There are plenty of schools out there that are bursting with athletic talent with nothing in the trophy case to show for it. Johnson County's administration in the last ten years has had a hand in improving everything about the entire school and district, and for that they should be applauded.

I agree with the earlier posters who stated this was just another in a series of poor decision by the Paintsville Independent Schools brain trust which will ultimately lead to the demise of the system. You guys will like being Eagles one day. It's not so bad. Heck, many of you started out that way to begin with. Big Grin

You said it perfect! Paintsville is still trying to hang on to the Big Blue Dream and it is turning into a nightmare. This thread started about the Apple Bowl and the thread went to the Middle Schools, transfers, and how JC administrators want Paintsville shut down then acadmeics. About the transfers that have moved from JC to Paintsville, I think I will call Grayson Boyd and have him and the PVA Office investigate them. JC has moved on, an although the Apple Bowl had alot of tradition, it does not effect JC and will be a big hit on Paintsville's budget.

What are we going to do on the Thursday night before Apple Day ??? I will miss this game. I have 2 nephews, one graduated from P'ville and the other is a senior there. I have had a lot of fun over the years with them. I usually start 2 weeks before. I've sent my share of sympathy cards to them, sent a stuffed tiger that i made look like it was beat up, and we texted ( trash talked )each other during one game. It was all in good fun and just between an uncle eagle and his 2 nephew tigers. This was the Apple Bowl for me. Good luck Tigers and Eagles as you go your separate ways. Apple Day will never be the same.

You know what? Every f******g thing you just mentioned.....was brought into this thread by you or another JC supporter. I have sat here and done nothing but read contradiction after contradiction. I can honestly say that I am officially embarrassed for our hometown area now. EVERY JC/Paintsville thread always ends up in the same direction, CLOSED, because of idiotcy. Always slandering someone, a school, a kid, or someone who we think we may know. We have ALL been guilty of it. I must say though some a whole lot more than others. And we should be ashamed of our selves. I will say this that yes I did go off on a preson on here once. And I was man enough to go to that person, face to face and apologize. Some of you have some serious issues though.

I don't need to say who you are because you ALL know who you are. Just like your screen names. ONE of your many many faces.

This is officially OTH's LAST post on BGR! I am fed up with this S**T! All we do is embarrass our county and I will NOT be any part of that from here on out.

BGR.....you have a great site. But, IMO...when someone post off topic. You should put them in time out right then.

To the people who actually get on here and I have debated with time after time about sports and teams......It has been my pleasure. Hope your future holds what you are searching for.

As for the rest of you S**t stirrers. Who have nothing better to do but put down our local schools and kids......................................................................

YOU CAN KISS MY A$$! :moon:

ADIOS BGR!

OTH's Final Post #3375!

This is a great post! Things of this nature is what will be missed about the Apple Bowl.
I honestly feel that there ot being an Apple Bowl, will not affect Pain'tsville's budget one bit. I mean....we can now have a high profile game with a team that has good fan support every year and not get just 1/2 the gate monies. Surely two years of this would at the very least come close to one Apple Bowl gate. It is not like we will only play a 9 game season. We might even be able to have 6 home games every year.So although the Apple Bowl might not be. It will not be forgotten. Just like losing a close friend or family member, with time, we will still have our great memories from it and hopefully forget the bad things that came with the Apple Bowl.
Good luck to both team's and schools.
This one is done for.....
Do not open another thread on this topic. It has been tried twice now and it does not work!!!!!
