Powell has a very young team and inexperienced team, this really hurt them when wolfe played an all out man press in the 4th. Powell played hard and built a 22 point lead over the wolfes in the 3rd but just couldnt keep it. I was really impressed with powell's bencd.

Powell may have lost but they played hard and played as a team which is something they didnt do with Crowe and Hawkins.

When Powell was up by 13 they got too cocky and Wolfe clawed back and hit alot of 3 point shots. They had too much speed for Powell. The Powell fans(students at mid-court on the front)were terrible. They shouted chants about Hawkins that showed NO taste and was up on the floor running their mouths. It was bad and showed NO sportsmanship. At one point they started chanting "scoreboard" after a halfcourt 3 and after the game it made me want to start chanting scoreboard back.

Powells student section wasnt being cocky...This game ur posting about is called BASKETBALL its always rough and even more with two rival teams like that....you just need to go back to church

I am very impressed by Jon Conley, after taking a year off, i figured he would be out of shape and not be as talented as he used to be. But he comes out and plays "Balls to the walls" all nite. He scores in the post AT WILL. Hustles and will be the deciding factor in Powell has a decent season. He should be the leader of this squad. Not tometion he has put up like 20 every game so far.

I agree he is a very good player. I wish he wouldnt have ever broke his ankle his 10th grade yr he would b alot better than he is now. And if he wouldve played high school ball last yr. Im rly impressed with him. I look for him to b a leader also. I grew up playing ball with Conley and i always knew he would b rly good one day. He always worked his butt off. Good to c u back doing wht u do best Conley good luck this yr.

This was a great game, very hard fought by both teams. Congratulations to Wolfe on not quiting and giving up. I thought at one point they had quit when they basically gave up a 22 point lead to Powell, but they gained some confidence when Powell quit and pulled out the W. I also want to say that Powell actually should have won this game by at least 30, but quit doing what had given them the big lead and Wolfe took advantage of it. This is a result of a young and very inexperienced team. They are have not been in a situation where they have a big lead and they let up and let Wolfe right back in the game. These two teams meet again at the end of the season and I guarantee you that Powell will be greatly improved and should get a win in the rematch. Powell just needs to gain more experience which they will, and learn from this game.

Not taking up for the fans who were rude or anything BUT...it shows no taste when a player transfers because he's mad at the coach...thats a little disrespectful to the team...and I'm sure that if one of your players transfered because he was mad about playing time you all would shout a few chants as well...JMO.

Well maybe u need to learn something before u say it cuz tht wasnt the only reason tht player left. Coach Hall is not a good coach at all. He has already ran two programs into the ground and now hes going for his third

Maybe he isn't a good coach. But Hawk shouldn't have left.

I agree. Hall doesn't know what to do half the time and when he tries to do something he usually screws up.

coach hall is not a bad coach.... he had 2 starters quit for stupid reasons, and now powell has 2 sophmores, 2 seniors, and 1 junior starting, with a very young bench. Its hall's first year, last time i checked coach lively didnt even have a winning season last year so why put coach hall down?

Ur r so crazy... Hall is not a good coach at all... Lively is one of the best Coachs to ever coach at Powell... Ur kidding right? U must not know basketball... if someones already ran 2 programs down dont u think he would a third also.

if he was a good coach he wouldnt have the team at 15-15 last year....

Lively was a way better coach than Hall will ever dream about being. And Lively didn't have a losing season last year. Maybe next time you should do some research before you try and suck up to Hall to get more playting time.
Here is a link to the schedule last year. Look at it.

Ok for one he had one of the hardest schedules in the region last yr. He had some ok players but jus couldnt upset the hard teams. U must have not knew Lively like i did. If u wanna tlk trash bout him go to Stanton Elem. i bet u wopuldnt think bout saying it to his face

At least he didn't lose to Wolfe County.

i dont even play, so why would i be sucking up to get playing time?... and it doesnt matter about the coaches, there has been 2 games this year, there is 28 left. Time will tell to see what they can do out there, and nothing we can say will change that

I kno who u r... and it dont matter if u play or not... i dont play either but i kno Hall isnt a good Coach even the players now will tell u tht so ask around. There 2 best players are gone and they cant b replaced not matter wht ppl say the CANT... U might wanna look some stuff up first before u run ur mouth bout Lively.. I looked up my stuff and even talked to refs bout Hall they told me everything he has did to programs in the past and i thinkl they would kno

So apparently the new coach at powell isn't so great? Thats fine...but IMO neither player should have left the team. I don't really know either player but there have been many players before them who have had a coach they didn't like...but they still played..it's called endurance. You have to learn to suck it up, move on, and keep playing your game. I think I can understand why some people would feel betrayed by two of the starters leaving...but thats JMO. Good luck to the Pirates, and the other two boys who transfered.

We still have plenty of time left in the season to work on our mistakes

Nobody is saying that Powell is gonna do bad or what not. We know they will work everything out, we are just saying that Hall don't know what he is doing.

youcantseeme85 Wrote:Yes their seniors do need to step up. But according to Coach Hall they dont need any seniors on the team tht they will do fine without them
I think the coach may just mean he'd rather lose with a bunch of freshman than win and be disrespected by seniors.

Come on! I hate to say it cause AJ's a great kid and have nothing personal against him at all. But, come on! AJ doesn't hustle like Monet does. AJ is tall enough to block any shot and at times, he seems lost and doesn't even put his hands up. And W Arvin needs to step it up, too. He stood by and watched the ball go by him many times last night. They need some pep in their step and stop whining about who gets more playing time. It doesn't matter how old Monet is, he is a good b-ball player and he gives it his all. That's why he plays. :yikes:

Monet? Good? You are out of your mind!!! The only reason he played because of the lack of guards on the team.
