a. why even call it Thanksgiving?
b. is it really even Thanksgiving?
My mom just informed me that we have no pumpkin pie this year- my one true love in life, and we can't even have it on Thanksgiving?
I'm switching families.

Pumpkin pie is good, but gets old. Try something new this year!

I agree with both. Its great and Thanksgiving isn't the same without it, but it also gets old.

I wouldn't say it's directly dedicated to pumpkin pie, lol.
Plus, food-wise, the holiday is more associated with turkey. But I'm in the same boat as you BFritz....I was told we would be having pumpkin pie, when I got there......
....it was some kind of squash pie, not pumpkin.

My Mom raised her own pumpkins... and the pie this year was THE MOST DELICIOUS PUMPKIN PIE WE'VE EVER TASTED... it was so good, that someone requested it for their birthday instead of cake!
