Did anyone watch the Pikeville Panthers play today? I thought that the first game against South Floyd showed some effort on the Panther's part. These guys played well for the first time this year and by beating Allen Central tonight, maybe this team can grow and become a strong team by March. With several kids that are still out, this team can only get better. Look for some surprises this season.

Coach Williams will have 12 kids that will play during the year. With that said, the pace will be fast and exciting to watch. Several of the players can shoot with any team in the region. What they lack in height, they will make up in hustle. You have to match up with each player as they can all shoot well enough to beat you if you try to double team. By March, the team should be ready to deal with any team in the district and region. These kids are mostly jrs and sophs. IMO, the future will belong to the Pikeville Panthers after this year. What I like about the younger players...they are not selfish and play team ball.
