not being nasty...just stating the facts. good luck to all teams this weekend (LCC, Whitley, JCC, and Highlands) should be some exciting games in the mountains friday night.

Game could partly depend on status of Letcher's Charlie Banks. I know his father really well and if Charlie is still hurt---he won't allow him to play. logan Johnson(fresh. qb) could be at the reins. My guess is that Banks won't go.

Congrats to LCC! What a game. According to KHSAA rules the even district will host the 4th playoff round, so if LCC beats Whitley and Highlands beats Johnson Central, then Highlands being in district five would come to LCC in district eight. If Johnson Central beats Highlands and LCC beats Whitley, LCC would go to Johnson Central as they are the higher seed in even district.

Way to go LCC! What a game. If i understand it correctly, if LCC beats Whitley and Highlands beats JC, then Highlands will make a trip to LCC because they are the even numbered district. If JC beats Highlands and LCC beats Whitley, then LCC travels to JC because they would be the top seed where both are even districts.

Whitley because they "run the ball". No - seriously whitley because they got schooled by the Bobcats early and they paid attention.

Another pole gone crazy. 18-15 LCC ........ Whitley will win by 21.
#37
Don't think Whitley will win by 21. The last game was way closer than that and this Cougar team is playing at their best right now on offense and defense. The defense pretty much shut down a real good running team in Mercer County. Cougars by 6 points.
Go Cougars!!!!!!!

Banks is feeling much better today, talked with him and he said he'd be playing Friday night.

LCC beat Whitley TWICE last year one home & one away. Don't forget about that. And I believe they will come out on top this time.

Somebody told me that Whitley's center is out due to injury? Is that true? That could really hurt them....

Letcher Co Central is going to clean house with Whitley.

There may not be a team in KY who is playing harder than Letcher County Central. They don't have any DI-A kids, ...BUT they are tough, gritty, well coached, passionate, and balanced. Everything they do is done with desire. How can someone not root for them? They are everything that is missing from so many sports today. They are a small town team who is playing for the pride of their school, community, and team. Win or lose against Whitley, they are a special team, that many other teams around can look at and say, "There, that is what hard work, determination, belief in one-another, and making plays at the time when they are presented, will get you." GO COUGARS!!!! Remember..You can't push rewind on life, and if you love the game of football as much as we all think you do, then you will be playing next Friday at home to go to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! BEAT WHITLEY.....P.S.....THE ENTIRE COUNTY WILL BE FOLLOWING YOU DOWN THERE!

This stuff we are new, we have only been a school for four years. I don't want to here that.... three football playing schools go together. Whitesburg has had a great football tradition, Neon not bad. Letcher on the other hand new.

Sounds like some from Harlan. You guys are not new when it comes to football.

Rolleyes

Unless you have been through the consolidation process then you don't have any idea as to what in the world you are talking about.

Go COUGARS!!!! I hope our neighbors across the mountain win it!

Snare,
The facts are this is our fourth year as a school. The other schools had their own traditions and accomplishments. However, LCCHS has only had four years so we are new to it and doing pretty good at it too. Go Cougars. Last one out of Letcher County Friday night turn off the lights!

The three consolidated schools were a combined 2-28 in their final year, Whitesburg and Neon had hit their lowest points in a long long time and Letcher had one year of football. So yeah, saying we are "new" is not that much of a stretch.

Does someone have the link for the game? I'm in TN and have no way of listening to the game on a traditional radio. Post link ASAP...

I can't pick up squat in our holler. A link would be great!

Not as many updates on here as there was last week, everyone must be attending the games.
