Johnson Central 08-09
#1
Any thoughts on how this year will go?
#2
After going to the finals of the region last year with junior loaded talent, I would have to say that they would be the favorite this year with them just getting a year older.
#3
I feel that the one of the few teams that could stand in the way of the Eagles is Shelby Valley. It will be exciting to watch this season unfold.

Look there are a lot of teams that will stand in JC's way this year. I mean everyone says they have people coming back but really all they have is Parker, Hall, and possibaly Ian Welch. They are gonna be good don't get me wrong but there are alot of teams that will stand in there way.
#5
Did they have Jaryd Crum?
#6
Jaryd graduated last year
#7
JCHS played Paintsville pretty close both games and went to Regional Finals, so they will be fine.
#8
Parker is a fine kid, and wiil be okay will a little disciplione.
#9
Who's Johnson Central's point guard going to be?
#10
the new point guard will be Jeremy Stacy..the back up for Crum last year...and Stacys back up will probably be the young Josh Hall..

You've got to be kidding...

Johnson Central will have a good team this year, but the favorite to win region? Please.

I will grant they they are a solid #2 in the region behind Shelby Valley, but that is still a distant second. JC will not win region this year unless SV has a complete meltdown.

I would predict the Eagles to win their district, and with the right draw will get back to the regional finals again.

I agree JC should be the favorite to win the District this season. But, as everyone knows...the 57th is a dog eat dog district. Any thing can happen and has happened.
With the football team doing as well as they are. A couple of their key players will be a couple of weeks away from basketball condition.
That being said, JC's first game of the season is against another good 57th team in SC. This could be a big game as far as seeding goes for the District Tourney.
Good Luck to JC on the season.

I'm say JC wins the 57th and is the 15th region runner-up to SV. I think their season depends on how well Whittaker, Welch, Parker, and Conley play. If they can get it together I think they could push for the region title but until then I think SV is the outright favorite.
