I am not sure of the exact scores because we didn't keep a book. The format was two 12 minute halves with a running clock and the scoreboard was reset at halftime. Maybe Cartman can elaborate on the score.

7th Grade:

Johnson County defeated Dorton by 30+

8th Grade:

Johnson County defeated Dorton by 20+

Johnson County's size and athleticism was too much for our small guards. They have a really strong 7th grade group.

DW5 do you know anything else on any other teams that played?

i know, right? Wrote:DW5 do you know anything else on any other teams that played?

We played the first games so I didn't see any others. As we were leaving Paintsville and AC were playing. It looked like high school teams, so I don't know if it was freshman or JV. I think Pikeville's grade school team was playing later.

BJ Combs starts on the Hazard football team, I know he was not playing basketball at Pikeville today, Hazard has two 8th graders (Jordan Olinger and Austin Johnson) that have been playing on the Hazard b-ball team why football players are out.

#3 was Austin Johnson, an 8th grader and Jordan Olinger was not there.

I didn't keep the score or stats either. In scrimmage games sometimes it can get sloppy but I thought your team continued to run their offense and never worried about the score. Good bunch of kids you have there. It was nice talking with you. Also, I like to thank Pikeville for having us and getting us an extra game.

Thanks for the compliments. You guys have a state championship caliber 7th grade. Your defense and our lack of ballhandling really hurt. Hopefully our guys can continue to work and get better. I know we didn't give you much of a game, but we would like to maybe play a couple of games against you next year. Good luck with the season.
