If Pikeville dosen't shut them down, they wont score more than 10
I could be wrong about this, but from the way Pikeville played last night, and the way P-burg played on friday, i dont see them beating us, and if they do by, it wont be more than 3 points
:?: im good lol

IMO Pikevilles defense is much tougher than Hazards. I will have to go with Pikeville 21

This game is really interesting to me and can really go either way....just depends on who gets the breaks. Pburg is not on the same level as NCC but they are no doubt better than Corbin. I think Pburg is better than Hazard regardless of Friday's game and will be ready for Pikeville. I knew the Pikeville defense was tough even after the NCC game and stuck to that all last week...I think a lot of people don't realize how good NCC is this year. I didn't think Pikeville would shut Corbin out but I knew their defense was good enough to win the game regardless of what some said. This game doesn't mean anything but pride and will make both teams better and I wish these two teams would play every year like Pikeville and Belfry. I think Pikeville is getting it together and will come out on top. I know Corbin is down this year but beating the Redhounds 34-0 on their homefield is pretty damn impressive. Both Pburg and Pikeville will continue to get better this year unlike last year when Pikeville peaked in week 1. Coach Jacksons teams are known to start peaking towards the end of the season and I expect that to happen this year and Pburg is always playing their best football towards the end of the season. I expect both of these teams to be playing in a Regional championship this year with Pburg taking on Belfry and Pikeville taking on Somerset...just my opinion. With all of that being said I am going to take Pikeville in this game 20-7 though it would not shock me at all to see Prestonsburg win the game. Good luck to both teams and lets hope for a injury free ballgame for both teams.

I've heard Pikeville held Corbin out of the endzone despite them getting in red zone many times.
That means, Corbin GOT in the red zone MANY TIMES!
Pikeville needs to realize they're not a GREAT defense yet...and they won't be as long as they just rely on playing great defense when the other team is about to score!
And by the way, that offense that supposedly "clicked" ...looks like they scored following a punt turnover, scored once on a QB scramble, and scored once on a QB sneak -- not exactly "Wing-T" plays. Sounds like their offense is still sputtering to me.
(The other scores must've been by the defense.)

You can find negative points about every team in the state if you look hard enough....I choos to find and focus on the positive points and no matter how bad you hate it Pikeville had a lot of positive things happen Saturday night.

I'm extremely excited to see the outcome of this battle. I am going to lean towards Pikeville winning.. but who knows?
Anything can happen - but Pikeville really stepped up against Corbin and finally seemed comfortable and confident in their new coach.

Pburgs offense will be fine with or without Shaffer, although he would make the offense click better,if needed bobby hughes can step up and play if he has to. Peters and Hamilton will be able to handle the offensive load considering Peters had 200 yards vs Hazard pretty much with no blocking all night, it will be ridiculous to watch him run the ball if he can get all of he linemen and TE's to block for him, where prestonsburg is gonna hurt at is on defense, especially without Shaffer. After playing with Shaffer he is one of the hardest working and more talented DE's i have ever played with or against, he is also a big SR leader this year. Pburg also looked like they had no fire on defense vs Hazard, it doesnt matter how much speed or strength u have on defense it wont be a machine unless u have 11 players on the field who r fired up and willing to risk their bodies for the good of the team
if pburg plays defense fired up for 4 qtrs and shaffer plays
pburg 28
pikeville 14
if shaffer doesnt play and pburg has no leadership on defense and pikeville comes out more fired up and more ready to play and win
pburg 7
pikeville 28
GO CATS, you all have it in you, just play like there is no tomorrow and we will party friday night

I agree with R and B, P-burg will be fine on the offensive side of the ball, but without Shaffer on defence they will be a lot weaker. He's one of the best DEs to play at P-burg.

Pikeville will beat P-burg as long as Hamilton is wearing the red and black. It's their way of sending a message.

Red and Black....Shaffer is going to be playing only defense I talked to him tonight.....I think this is good for bobby hughes to get in and get some snaps b/c the team will be his next year....If bobby can get it done I look for him to start starting and dave only be playing Defense which would help the cats in the 4th quarter b/c of daves ability to only play one way, he wouldnt be as tired......I am going to change my previous prediction I say Pburg 28 Pikeville 26 OT

Prestonsburg loses one game and a starter goes out and everyone thinks they are the worse team ever to play....I know I picked Pikeivlle in an earlier post but that was before I knew dave was playing TRUST me it will be a different story Dave will/should be all over the field come friday night hock:

Glad to hear Shaffer is playing. The Blackcats missed him more on defense last week after he got hurt than they did on offense. Hughes did a great job for a young guy to step into that situation.
I'd like to see this game, should be a dandy.
I say Prestonsburg comes out looking better and wins a low scoring one 20-14

What i would like to see happen is hughes play well friday night and shaffer be moved to TE, the best position on the field, lol.

According to the teams Physical Therapist he will be 100 percent but he is only going to be playing defense hock:
