As I said I'm not too familiar with a lot of teams in KY but I do know Hunter Adams, Spencer Greer and Gilliam from Harlan County are all great players. What about Caleb Watkins or Casey Hayes or Dexter Carnes?? Anyone know about them? Who does everyone think is good?

Channing Fugate-Breathitt County
Greg Adams-Hazard ( Prolly the Fastest in the Mts. IMO)

Daniel Harmon (Pikeville)
-Fast and can break your ankles, Great team leader
Ivan Lee (Belfry)
-Plays dirty but I like his style. Runs the ball fast and hard
Channing Fugate (Breathitt County)
-All around good player, He'd could play QB if he wanted. lol

Channing is one of the best if not the best. He has power, size and speed. He was outrunning "lexington" players when he was about gassed. That shows me alot of heart also.

Travis with Perry Central is fast and has the moves. Amis at QB is also a good runner.
10-19-2008, 10:03 PM
Everyone seems to forget Spencer Greer was all state last year
10-19-2008, 10:10 PM
Nat Gilliam has 1,116 yards so far. Not to shabby.

That Doderer kid from paintsville is tough. He's better then richardson and dillon for JC. Doderer just doesnt have a good line blocking for him.
10-19-2008, 10:25 PM
Caleb Watkins from Corbin rushed for over 300 yards and scored 4 TD's against LCA and their star running back Dominique Hayden. Two of the TD's were 97 and 93 yards. He is strong, fast and smart.

Yep. Don't get me wrong, i like both Richardson and Dillon, but i know the difference in the talent level thats surrounded by them. With Doderers speed, imagine how dangerous he would be if he had the same line that JC has. Idk what makes you think that would be such a surprise? Im a central fan and i even see how good of an athlete Doderer is.

I dont see how you can include the crowder boy from AC on this list, he may be a good running back but not one of the best in the mountains. He may be placed as one of the top LBs, but shouldnt be in this list. IMO

what do u mean ivan lee plays dirty, please explain

1. Channing Fugate- Breathitt
2. Daniel Harmon- Pikeville
3. Spencer Greer- Bell
4. Thomas Varney- Belfry
5. Chase Richardson- JC
6a. Allen Craynon- Pburg
6b. Seth Setser- Pburg
8. Hunter Adams- Middlesboro
9. Caleb Watkins- Corbin
19. Ivan Lee- Belfry
Anyone who does not list Thomas Varney on their short list have obviously not actually seen Belfry play. Lee is the bull..but Varney does everything possible on offense (runin inside, run outside, catch the ball, block, etc) and would even be the backup QB if needed.

Out of the entire list how do you pick out the crowder kid as one to gripe about? He is right at a 1,000 yds. He is also a junior! How many others on the list are juniors? Go watch him play and then make your comments.
10-20-2008, 12:17 AM
Channing Fugate is a junior isn't he?

Yup, sure is. I thought that the senoir year was supposed to be the best one. I dont know how much better he can get. That is a scary feeling for the rest of 3A.

Greg is fast but isnt that good of a runner. Dimitri Travis from perry central is just as fast but is a better all around back.

There are some great runningbacks from the mountains. Too many to list and everyone who has been mentioned so far has not disappointed any.

Caleb Watkins is a junior.

Richardson & Dillon play against better competition, totally outplayed Fugate from Breathitt and Greer from Bell Co. head to head when they met and are bigger and stronger than Doderer.A joke to even compare him with these backs. JC has 6 backs better than Doderer!
