Can anyone tell me how the 2nd round of playoffs works?

I understand round 1- just not sure how round 2 works. I haven't been able to find anything on KHSAA to enlighten me either.

As I understand this year the playoffs go back to the "OLD" playoff system. We #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3 in cross district action. Then from there the winners adavance

In which direction do they advance?

If Pikeville wins district 7. Then the first round could be:

Pikeville vs. Jenkins
Paintsville vs. Pineville

Hazard vs. Betsy Layne (I think they are 4th seed)
Harlan vs. Allen Central.

Would the winners of the first 2 games listed play one another in the second round? Or would the winner of Pikeville/Jenkins play the winner of Harlan/AC and the winner of Paintsville/Pineville play the winner of Hazrd Betsy Layne?

Gee- I think I've confused myself even more.

Assuming the seeds hold up, in the second round it would be Harlan at Pikeville and Paintsville at Hazard with the two winners meeting for the regional championship in the third round.

I thought the District 7 # 1 plays # 4 in district 8. Then District 8 # 2 plays District 7's # 3,, Then the District 8 # 1 plays district 7's # 4, Then District 7's # 2 plays district 8's # 3. hope I didnt get anyone confused.

No he don't. He has Districts 1 and 2 in the same bracket, i have it opposite. With District 7's # 1 and then District 8's # 2. Then its vice versa on the other side. But I am not sure how it goes. Im just trying to remember.
