Actually they are still not a very strong team. They got over 52 points put on them by a decent Poca team. Other than the Dots they havn't played much of a schedule. That changes this week for Tolsia. They get a pretty good team from Wayne that is going to be in a bad mood after being upset by Point Pleasant this week.

actually didn't their two losses come to two of the top five teams in their class? One being Polka.

Poca is 2-4 and the other loss was to Magnolia who is 3-3.

Some interesting stats Ryan Kelly Needs only 98 yards to break a 1000 for the year, and Austin Stepp needs only 129 to have over 1000 in passing yards? Odd for the Cardinals to have that in passing....thoughts

Going qbdad's post about SC passing the ball this season. Alot of teams in this area are integrating some type of passing game. Belfry actually threw the ball more thank usual against Pikeville. With Harmon out Pikeville is throwing the ball ALOT. Pike Central is not in that spread offense and Valley likes to throw it around from time to time as well. Its weird to see how EKY football has changed to a certain extent. Going back to the 90s most teams ran the wishbone and now alot of teams in this area have switched there offense all together mainly due to coaching changes.

Not quite, if PC wins this game and loses to Belfry, then SC defeats Belfry, Pike Central will probably end up third due to the tiebreaker rules. But reallistically you are probably pretty accurate.

Belfry threw the ball alot because Pikeville was in essence nothing more than a practice for Belfry once they got up big. Plus, when passing teams are winning big they run the ball to avoid running up the clock, Belfry is the opposite.

As for the game:
SC is on a different level than PC talent wise:
SC 33
Central 13

well i understand that it was just a practice game but the past two season (which is including this season) they have actually thrown the ball a little bit. which is odd.

95% of the high schools in the state of KY would love to have Andrew Elkins as their QB running a passing system.

Ladies and Gentlemen this could be the most ludicrous statment in the history of BGR. How can you say that. You have no stats, no numbers to show that you have polled coaches and they said they would start him in a pass happy offense, despite the fact he throws around 50 passes a year. When you say somthing like that all it does is make you and all your other posts look bad. Don't just make stuff up.
Back to the game SC will handle Pike Central. PCC is hands down the 3rd best team in the district, but they are not ready to compete with SC & Belfry. PCC has some athletes and if SC makes mistakes (turnovers and/or penalties) then PCC will be in the game and have a shot to win. Should be a fun one to watch.

Relax man, it's just an opinion. Nobody would be allowed to post anything hardly if they had to "poll" or do a lot of research to back up their statements. EKU was just saying that Andrew Elkins is a fantastic passer, which he is. If Belfry wanted to throw 25-30 times a game he would be the player to do it. However, when you have one of the best rushing attacks in the state, there is no need to throw it too much. Elkins threw 87 passes last year and 80 in'06. In '03 Paul Howard threw 82 times and I dont have the numbers for '04 and'05.

All we've got to do is get Casey Delong the ball in the air and its an auto win for us..Avery Ray can factor this game also.

"Ladies and Gentlemen"! You are right, I am so off base and have never made any valid points on this website in my life, I will gladly bow to your football knowledge and concede that I have no clue what it takes to make a great QB on the HS level. Elkins would never start at any other school because all he does is hand off the ball and has never proven he could win a game, or lead a team, in his entire career.
I am sure Coach Haywood would give his left arm right now if he could trade Elkins for any other QB in the state. Once again I bow to your superior expertise.
For the greater good of this website I will form a coalition to make sure that every opinion is substantiated by a coach's poll from this point on. I want to take this time to personally thank you for showing me the errors of my way, can I please show my respect by officially changing my name now to "Matney's Prodigy's Prodigy"?
