I think Powell will keep this game closer then expected. I can even see them winning this game. Breathitt beat them 47-7 at Harlan and Breathitt only beat Estill by 1 point at home. Breathitt's offense did not score on Estill. Powell put two touchdowns in on them. I believe Powell moves into the number 3 spot in the district behind #1 Breathitt and #2 Estill ( see them taking care of Harlan fairly easy). With all that said Powell wins the game 28-24!!

If the only game I had seen the Bears play was the Breathitt game, I'd see where you were coming from. The Black Bears will redeem themselves in a big way this week. :rockon:

Powell by 7 Powell is ready. They had a bad week last week. Look for them to come out pumped.

I think the bears will redeam themselves this week. There was way too much hoopla last week. This week they got back to basics. Mike is a good coach and he has done a great job at Powell, but they dont have the horses ( bears)! Nate Gilliam, Lance Simmons, T.J. Green and company get there 4th win of the season. 34-24.

I will also say Harlan. Powell has much improved but still not enough for Harlan. But would love to see Powell pull off the upset. It would be a great win for them.

If Powell plays the way they did the first couple weeks, they will win. They need to come out with some intensity. And fire to win. If that happens, then Powell will win this game.

They are not playing Jackson, Morgan, Lewis anymore. Powell has one more gimmee or cupcake and that is BETSY LAYNE. Harlan Co will be a much more difficult opponent than Bath Co, should be closer to an Estill type team.

I am still sick over the loss to BC. I'm having withdrawals and I need to see the Black Bears play some football. If the Black Bears show up ready and focused, it will be a big win. The Black Bear team has learned some valuable lessons over the past week or so. It is gutcheck time and if the Black Bears have picked theirselves back up and overcome it, it's going to be something special. We too must pick ourselves back up and show our Black Bears that the Black Bear Nation is still behind them 110%. GO BLACK BEARS!!!!!! RISE AND REDEEM!!!

There is much to be said about focus. Here is a tiny little bit: These young men have to learn, yes learn, what it takes to be successful as a team and I'm sure the Coaching Staffs across the state attempt to teach it. A team must recognize their need to first set a goal and be focused on it, not let anything take it away. Take care of their classwork and excel in it, take care of themselves with self discipline(proper food intake, get proper sleep,and example
tay away from skate boards), work hard on the practice field, strive to improve skills that are lacking, take criticism with respect, recognize that your teammates depend upon you, and work together with pride to take care of the task at hand on game night. Focused Teamwork will win. I know, I'm on a soapbox. GO BLACK BEARS!!!!!! RISE AND REDEEM!!!!!!

although the bears kinda let me down in the BC game I still have faith in them. they had their off week this past week and I sure they've been working on fixing their mistakes, I think they'll redeem themselves in this game and i'm going to take them by 2TDs 28-14
(this is all if the HC team that played the first few weeks comes out to play, if the team that played against BC comes out, it could get ugly i'm afraid)

Harlan is a good team and they will look good against Powell.

I'm jumping back on the Black Bear band wagon with both feet. The Bears will come out Friday with both "paws" swinging. It's time that the Bear Nation come back out of the cave and show their support and confidence for our boys. GO Black Bears!:redboxer:
