No, I don't care. He's right, this is pathetic. Sad

Pikeville allowed AC more points last night than AC has scored on Pikeville in the previous 7 years.

AC's score last night = 42

AC's combined scores from 2001-2007 = 32

So is the rest of the district getting better, or is Pikeville getting worse? Or could it be a combination of the two?

This is a suprising score...

I think it is a combination of both.

The days of Pikeville domination are long gone.

The Rebels drove and scored several times on the starters, the second group and even the third group. Dont try to take anything from them rebels. Baker is a great player but the one that give them the lead was a stroke of luck. Great game, both ways. Lets not sit here and start the weak or player out crap. Pikeville walked out with a win, and was probably praying they did.
#37
Pikeville didn't give up even when they were down by 13 with 11:00 minutes left in the game. Despite losing several key players before and during the game (Harmon, Mullins, Robinson and Cleary out early in 4th), IMO that shows heart. Take this win and move on to the next game. GOOD JOB PANTHERS!
#38
Nice way to gut this one out Panthers. Also, way to bring it to the field Allen Central.
#39
hahaha what happen?
#40
if all you can say about a coach is he used a good stopwatch on the last drive. good luck with your program. i wonder if he timed allen central running by his defense?

A one point win over Allen Central? This is the mindset that is killing the program.

Good game AC, I was sure wrong on this one. It appears Pikeville needs to make some changes on D for sure, way to many points have been scored all season on this setup, the ol sayin if it aint broke dont fix it, well its broke. Also you have one of the best DB in the area and try and make a D lineman out of him his sr year, You will get more bang for your buck out of that Kid on D putting him where he can move, Maybe they will have some of those big lineman finally step up this week. In my opinion. Belfry next, go panthers

when i seen this score i looked over at my brother and asked if i was seeing this score correctly... i was in absolute shock i never thought in my entire life i would see AC come within 1 point of beating Pikeville...
#44
good job Allen sorry you came up short

What happend to Harmon? He is a great player and hope his injury isn't serious.

Harmon took a hard hit early in the 1st quarter. He was helped off the field (limping) but returned to the game. He played intermittently from there. When he left the side line last night he had ice packs taped to one leg. Not sure exactly what the injury was but certainly hope it was minor enough for a quick return.

He took a helmet to the knee on the opening kickoff. The Panthers were without a lot of their playmakers and showed IMO a ton of heart. Hats off to Tyler Baker who gave the best effort I've ever seen out of him. And to AC great game.

Listening to the game, it sounded as though AC should have won. They were up by 13 with 10:00 or so left in the game. Costly fumbles and missed extra points came back to bite them hard! But let's not take dimisnish the effort by the Panthers. They really stepped up their game in the 4th quarter and shut AC down!
#49
And as for Harmon...I wish him a speedy recovery from his injury. He is an excellent athlete, and a big part of Pikeville's success. Will you all from Pikeville keep us updated on his status as info becomes available?
#50
Maybe Pikeville can invite AC to the Pike Co. Bowl next year .
#51
Pikeville Football reminds me of Kentucky Basketball anymore...Use to the name Pikeville would get you a 21 point lead before the kickoff ever happened such as UK basketball use too. Now teams don't fear either and have realized of late that you are just playing a name and does not fear that persona that once scared teams to death. Very proud of the Rebs to put up a fight like they did in what sounds like a game that they let go. Would also like to wish Daniel A speedy recovery.

No its the incesant whining of folks like yourself who offer no realistic solutions and refuse to get involved in any capacity to try to "Fix" what they perceive is the "Problem" because its much easier and takes far less backbone to complain under a user name behind a computer. No these kids didnt play their best on friday and yes IMO they were guilty of looking ahead but they found a way to win at the end with six Freshmen amd Sophomores on the field all night on D. That should make you proud but instead to you its "Pathetic"? Would you please just go root for another school because with "fans" like you who needs detractors.

After watching the game, Pikeville very lucky to come away with a win. Allen Central pretty much ran over the Pikeville defense and basically just "beat up" the Pikeville squad. There were a lot of injuries on the field and Pikeville was busy taking kids off the field.

Don't complain and say Pikeville was missing players...Allen Central physically won the game just came up short on the scoreboard due to other factors...

Give credit to Baker for taking advantage of match-up problems all night for Pikeville and the deflected pass that he caught was the play that put Pikeville ahead for the first time since they scored first in the game.

Good Luck to both teams

This was a great game to watch! A C controlled the line of scrimmage the entire game. Pikeville kept fighting back with big plays of their own. Pikeville threw a pass into double coverage, the ball was tipped twice and Baker made the biggest catch of his life. (Congrats)
Make no mistake about it, Allen Central is for real! They pose serious matchup problems with their size and aThree-pronged running attack. (Check the stats).
Pikeville won the game, but Allen Central won a lot of RESPECT!
Congrats Rebels! Now got get some Bobcat Hide!

Yes, they "found a way to win" with six freshmen and sophomores on the field. Good for them for stepping up, but honestly, shouldn't the entire JV have been in the game by halftime?

That's how it used to happen. So is the district getting better or is Pikeville getting worse? It's an honest question.

We've been told by a few how Pikeville had 6 Freshmen and Sophomore's on the field. I can appreciate the youth and inexperience factor- but it wasn't like Pikeville was playing 11 nineteen year old Seniors. AC has only 2 Seniors on their roster- Josh Prater (11) and Marty Dye (16).

AC's defense:
Josh Prater SR
Marty Dye SR
Logan Crowder JR
Hunter Crowder JR
Chris Stumbo JR
Cory Conn JR
Justin Jackson JR
Chase Hansford SO - out w/ ACL injury - replaced w/ Tyler Salyer at this point.
Josh Handshoe FR
Micah Harlow FR
Sheldon Rice FR
Tyler Salyer FR
AC played Defense with 2 Seniors, 5 Juniors and 4 Freshmen- of those 11 players 8 are also Offensive starters.

Allen Central has worked hard to improve their program- so don't tear them down by offering excuses/reasons for the score of this game. This time last week many of the Panther faithful were telling us how the game would be over before half time- how the the only scoring AC would do would be against Pikeville's JV. Give these boys a little credit for all the work they have done. They play football for AC for the same reason it is played at Pikeville and every other school - THEY LOVE THE GAME!!

The fact of the matter is that this matchup was a tough one for Pikeville. I'm telling you, in my honest opinion, AC has two of the best running backs you will find in the mtns. The Crowder brothers are big and strong and athletic. I don't know which brother it is, but #30 is one heck of a back. He will pose a threat to whoever AC plays. Their line is big and strong, they don't have very good technique, but they go where their suppose to go. People shouldn't take anything away from them.
Now, as far as Pikeville, they showed another pretty dominating performance on offense. On offense they keep getting better each week and are discovering new avenues with their offense that will help open things up for them. The OL seems to be coming together and grasping the offense now. I only see them getting better offensively throughout the rest of the season.
Defensively, they can't stop anyone right now. They seem to be in the right places, they just aren't making the stops. They are not hitting like their teams used to hit. They act like there scared to hit sometimes.
Again, congrats to AC on turning things around from the last few years.

#30 is Logan - this is Logan's second year starting as a running back at AC-his Freshmen year he played alot at the back position filling in for both Click and Crum. #34 is Hunter - he spent Freshmen/Sophomore years playing on the O line. Coach Hall moved him to tight-end this year hoping to have some heighth and a second pair of good hands for Prater to pass to. After a very mild concussion in the second scrimmage of the season- Hunter was going to sit out offense in game 1 against Jenkins- and play O only if necessary. When Logan came out at Jenkins w/ severe cramps -Hunter went in at full back played his guts out. When week 2 rolled around- Hall had changed his line-up in the back field- w/ Hunter at fullback, Logan at halfback and Justin Jackson at tailback. Looks to me like- Logan's cramps paid off pretty nice for AC- their running game is working good.

Keep working Rebels- the hard work is paying off. It's time to get FOCUSED and get ready for BL on Friday. One game at a time- one play at a time.

Good Luck AC!!!
