Shelby Valley 46 - Knott County Central 14
#1
Final
#2
Like almost everyone said, Valley easily.

Good job Cats. 2-0
#3
grats valley!!
anyone have any stats for this game?
#4
SV looks strong at this point, is it next week at Belfry, that should be a good measuring stick as to how far they have come.
#5
Congrats to Shelby Valley on the win. Not sure why so many people in the pre-game discussion thread were predicting a Knott Central win. This result is about what I expected, maybe a little worse.

SV better bring their A+ game next week against Belfry, or they'll be on the other side of this score.

Congrats Valley..About what I figured!
#7
Congrats to valley

good luck to both teams next week
#8
Thought the score may have been a little closer, Congrats Valley.
#9
Good Win Valley sure thought it was going to be closer.

Valley needs to learn a little bit of class and take a knee to end the game instead of going for the TD and then the 2 pt conversion and then the onside kick to top that off all under a min. The radio guys didnt seem to happy about it either, if that was the case real classy move by SV. Them seem to be known for that type of sportsmanship in all sports....
#11
Went to this game to see if Ratliff is the player they say he is....Ratliff is very good. What I saw more of was the lack of defensive play from Knott...whoever their d-coordinator is needs to teach some technique before they can run schemes..BTW who is the d-coordinator? The score sahouldf of been much closer!

What do you think they "deserve"? Work hard in the off season like they did and get your licks in when you can. Congrats Valley and Saunders.

Yeah, their volleyball and soccer teams runs the score up on everyone. Rolleyes Don't judge the whole barrel by one apple.

instead of downing a upcoming program like valley, why not talk about pikeville taking it out on Betsy Lane coming off 2 straight losses?
where is the class there haha

If your going to down one school, look at the rest of the games and involve them also

Pikeville didn't go for a TD, 2 pt Conversion and a onside kick with under a minute either did they. It's not Pikevilles choice that Betsy Lane couldn't shut down there offense. All sv had to do is run the ball and knee.

I think they deserve a touchdown, 2 pt conversion, onside kick and a hailmary all in 1:12 seconds :redboxer:

Maybe because this is not a Pikeville and Betsy Layne thread?

Knott did not play very well in this game and SV is a good team.. SV was up 38-14 and had a 40 yard drive and 2 point conversion with a minute left on the clock, take a knee next time. But, the onside kick with 30 seconds to go was a little much.

Was you at the game?, If you was then you would know Saunders did not tell his boys to kick a onside kick, and for the 2 point conversion, i dont think valley has made a extra point all year so why not just add 2 points to it

Volleyball and Soccer? Who cares about those sports, I was talking about football and basketball, SV needs to learn how to win and how to lose with class.

I don't know... I'm guessing maybe the players, their parents and maybe some fans too...

Benchwarmer never complained about the two point conversion. Although I think it would be a good time to work on the EP, because you may need it eventually.
Just curious to what happened on the onside kick then if Saunders didn't tell them to? I'm not dogging them or anything just curious to who the mix up was one.

I was at the game. I didn't think it was an onside kick. It was a kick that went to the second line of blockers. If you watch SV's kicking game, they very rarely kick it deep.

To say they kicked an onside kick at the end of the game is distorting the truth.
#28
I think that everyone whining that SV didn't take a knee at the end is just that, whining. If you don't like it, tell the defense to stop it. Isn't that what football is about, trying to score when you have the ball, and trying to stop the other team when they have it?

And if Belfry beats SV by 40 points next week (which I fully expect they will), you won't find me on here complaining about it. That's football.

It was definately an onside kick...check the film and I'll bet you will see at least 6 SV players going to spot where ball was kicked. But if that's the way Coach Saunders wants to play it's his choice.
