The only bad thing about this game is it's being played in week 1 iand there will be a lot of mistakes made by both teams, it will be an exciting game, I would like to see it played later in the season when both teams have time to work out their kinks.

I don't see Breathitt being able to match up on the line of scrimmage. Close for a while and then Johnson Central wears them down.

I am ready for this one to get here. All this talk and I am ready to see what happens on Friday!!! Both teams will be ready!!!

Best first week game by far. I wouldnt be surprised in breathitt pulls the upset.

I really would not call Breahitt winning an "upset", they are playing at home for a coach who has won three state titles against a team who still has trouble defending the pass and will be without Matney! Game is a toss-up.

Wow thats some serious confidence for the middle of August, or should I say OVERCONFIDENCE. As for the game, if this was last year I would say JC by at least 3 TDs but at this time I see it being a much closer game. Can JC fill the offensive holes left from graduation and will BC find a defense this year is pretty much the questions that will be answered soon.

An upset? Yes but a slight one at that. Breathitt has to be considered somewhat of an underdog. Remember Breathitt is 3A, Central is 5A and Breathitt still has many players who have yet to step back onto the field following a very bad beating by Belfry to end the previous year. Believe me, sometimes it can be hard to shake a disastrous loss from the previous year.

Also remember, there are a few starters returning from laste year's JC team.... The same team that beat up on, (48-29), eventual 3A champions, Louisville Central.... The team that beat Belfry.... Just for the records.... So this will not be an easy game.

Combined with "6 good receivers now along with the best RB in the region(Fugate) and another good RB in Spicer.Jade Haddix at QB.Get used to hearing that name" tells me you don't lack for confidence in your offense.
The question is...can the Bobcat defense keep Central from running through them ? If not, BC will need to score every time it gets the ball...

They're not "indifferent" if they're "ready to redeem themselves"...
Indifferent means you don't care. I doubt that's true.

What I meant is that I am sure the team is focused on this year and does not think about the Belfry game last season much if at all. Breathitt really overachieved and was beaten by a better team last season, this year, Breathitt will be that better team and will have the advantage of playing Belfry or Russell after they beat each other up, like Breathitt had to play Belfry after being physically beaten by Russell last year.

Will everybody be eligible for Breathitt? I heard that the officials for the LCC scrimmage turned the suspensions into the KHSAA and the guilty players will have a seat for week one. Is this true ?

I'm giving JC the upper hand by 7. My final prediction is 28-21
08-26-2008, 10:21 PM
Will Coach Matney be setting out this game or has he already served his supension in the scrimmage games?
08-26-2008, 10:29 PM
Matney will not be back until week 3.

I saw JC play this preseason along with others and JC is huge and talented. Last year doesn't count, this yr. does and JC has the best team in the mountains. JC 42 BHS 12:mad: :flame:

Is Matney not coaching this game for rule violations?

That would be why.
But lets not go into detail of why he was suspended, talk about the game only!

Sorry, I was just asking. I think it will be a very good and close game with breathitt pulling it out in the end. Both teams will go deep in the playoffs.

No need to apologize, that post wasn't aimed towards you it was aimed towards everyone.

Turn overs will be the difference in this one. Breathitt will need to not turn it over 8 or 9 times, like they did when they played Belfry last season. Both teams will come out of this game a better football team.

Friday can't get here soon enough!!!!!

Should be a good game, but JC wins.
