I doubt Craynon will be getting many carries in this one due to his hamstring. If he even does get to play. But I do agree P-burg will out coach and out play Paintsville.

It would be smart if Coach D set Allen in this one, there is no reason he should be on the field. Save him for Breathitt County.

I expect Burchett to pass a little more than normal and to see Seth get alot of the carries with Allen taking it easy in this one.

If you only consider P-burg's druthers in this one, I would agree...

The problem is...the Blackcats biggest mismatch in this one is the running game vs. a thin, unproven Paintsville defensive front. Prestonsburg going primarily with the passing game plays to the stronger part of the Tiger defense. It could make the game closer than it otherwise might be.

IMO, P-burg would be better off playing their typical offensive mix with Craynon's backup.

If P-burg goes heavily with the pass:

Prestonsburg 28
Paintsville 14 (includes a defensive score)

If P-burg plays their regular mix of plays (with Craynon's replacement on O):

Prestonsburg 35
Paintsville 7

I agree, Prestonsburg would be able to run away with this one if they just play smashmouth football. Paintsville doesn't have the same athleticism or strength as Prestonsburg, so it defiantly favors Prestonsburg. If Coach John does decide to pass the ball a lot more then it could either result in a lot of scoring by Prestonsburg or a low scoring effort.

But if I were Coach John I'd just pound away at the Paintsville defense with the run and go get ready for Breathitt County.

I'm trying to get an update on Allen's injury status, should know by this evening. If Allen doesn't get to play then expect Seth Setser & Blake Meade to get most of the carries. Their is no one on the Blackcat roster that has the speed of Craynon or his athletic ability, but expect junior Austin McKinney to replace Craynon if he isn't able to play.
