Year after year Breathitt, Belfry and Russell are about equal as far as records and strength. Last season was the exception where Belfry was head and shoulders better than the other two team. Should be another interesting post season. Do not forget, Harlan County is playing 3A with a 5A roster, kinda like Mercer did a couple years ago, so they may be dangerous.

belfry has lost alot. but still going to be big. when i watched the belfry breathitt game, breathitt looked almost scared and intimidated. for what reason i do not know, they should have kept up with them more than they did. Dont get me wrong belfry was a good team but i dont think they were good enough to embarrass breathitt in the manner that they did. I think we will be the team to stop Belfry from advancing into the championship game. But that's jsut one man's opinion.

They were pretty banged up when they left Henry R Evans stadium. After being in a physical game by the RED DEVILS they faced another smash mouth team that really put a hurt on them. All in all they were just a step better than the Devils last year. But not enough to bounce back for the Pirates.

Breathitt was not a very athletic team last season....The were slower than usual as far as their receivers and corners and their defense was not consistent. From What I saw at practice a couple weeks ago, they are in shape and have very good size and speed throughout the starting roster. Not sure about how deep they are, but if there are no serious injuries, they will be improved from last years overacheiving team.

Belfry was head and shoulders better than anyone in the east in 3A last season. Even if Breathitt had not played Russell, they would have lost to Belfry. Breathitt while having a good record, was not as good a team as they are this year. They play a harder regular season schedule and may have a loss or two, but in 3A, they will challenge for the title.

Giving up and trying to compete are two diffrent things. Mentally, I just don't think Breathitt was there last year. They had a tough schedule last year too, and that made their last game a heart breaker. They had two of the most physical games at the end and they payed the toll. Yes Belfry was 2nd best in the state last year, but they also have a coach who knows how to find your weakness and keep on till it breaks completely down.

You better chalk up one more loss because they are not going to beat Fleming County! They have not been close to Fleming in the past and Fleming is much improved since last year.

Russell should not have any problems from the district or around the area except for Raceland, BUT what scares me is the Simon Kenton game at their place. That is the only games that worry me, other than that Russell has no problems with anyone else IF THEY TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS!!!!
