How many of Belfry's players are not from inside the school district? Who come in from WV or places in the area? I know this happens quite a bit in Northern Kentucky, Lexington, and Louisville. Trying to figure out why it doesn't happen up here in NE Ky.

Belfry rarely has kids move from WV to Belfry after they begin high school at Belfry. I am also very willing to bet that it doesn't happen as often as you think in Lexington and NKY. Louisville, is a horse of a different color due to the way that they do their schools and your large privates such as Trinity and Male, but in terms of Jefferson County public schools it is not a huge issue at all.

It happens quite a bit in NKY, having quite a few friends from that area. They've told me all about the system. Most of the time the kids don't transfer from one school to another in HS. The good players are enrolling in that system usually in Middle School, and it happens a lot.

Wasn't David Jones from WV? That is what is listed on the 08 roster. I'm not complaining, in my eyes I see it as an ok thing. If a student athlete and his parents feel that one school is better for them athletically in bettering the kids future, then let them attend there. As long as coaches aren't initiating contact and its a private decision.
I'm just trying to understand why it is a prominent thing in some areas of the state, but not in others. Right across the river from us in Ohio, it is pretty much decided if a kid shows good football potentional at a young age they will goto Ironton or Wheelersburg. Sometimes Portsmouth will produce good teams.

Belfry has maybe one or two players from West Virginia.
