Somerset/Paintsville Scrimmage

Somerset will be very physical. Their head coach always has them playing hard and they will hit ya.....I do not know a lot about Paintsville, so I think this will be a learning experience for both teams.

Haven't seen or heard anything about Paintsville's scrimmage at Magoffin last week. Everything go OK for the Tigers? Paintsville should have some pretty good skill players this year.

Is Paintsville still a mainly option team? I remember when we played them in the Region Championship in 2005 they had that Pugh(sp?) at QB and they ran option all the time. I know they are a run team though.

Thats a really good question, no one has come on here and give any updates of how they did in their last scrimmage or anything. I know that last season Paintsville ran a lot out of the veer but their is no telling what type of formations they run this season after getting a new coach and losing their do-it-all player, JD Vanhoose.

Well now Tyler Deaton is Q.B and hes just as good at qb then he was at receiver in not better.

Somerset played pretty bad. Had 5 turnovers(3 INT's and 2 fumbles). At halftime, Somerset lead 17-0. 2nd half, Paintsville scored twice late in the 3rd quarter on the Jumpers defense and it was 24-12(?) at the end of the third when the JV teams played all the 4th quarter.

The final was Somerset 24-18. Paintsville scored one in the JV quarter in the 4th to make it 24-18.

Pasintsville has a couple pretty sold skill players. QB #9 is a very good runner. Somerset played pretty bad last night.
