Hope the Redlegs get Sabathia, and upgrade their daggone bullpen.

Matt Holliday is on my wish list.

I didn't even see Holliday's name listed. I could have sworn he was going to be a free agent.

Vlad Guerrero would look good in a Cincy uniform.

You guys are extremely optimistic about the upcoming Reds offseason...

The Reds will screw up in the offseason like they normally do. There is no way any self respecting player is going to play for a perennial loser like the reds. No way will you see Vlad, Holliday or any big name player in Cincy, not if they have any sense. However I should remind myself that most professional athletes only care about money anyway, so I guess if the Reds offer enough, they might just get one of those big names.

Man, I'm sorry but the Braves sure aren't impressing anyone. At least the Reds have a Cy Young capable pitcher in Volquez, the whole Braves rotation will be getting their social security checks soon. If the money is there, which it should be now the Reds are capable of getting anyone.

Lets remember that the Reds should have cap space after getting rid of Griffey and Dunn, so hopefully we will get 1-2 free agents on that free agent list.

Yeah I know the Braves organization is on a down escalator to ****. They trade what talent they have away and get nothing in return. I mean my god, they just got Teixeira last year and traded him a few weeks ago. They are as bad as the Reds. I have been meaning to change my name on here but havent gotten to it and not even real sure if I can. I am a Red Sox fan for life so I guess I should change it to something to do with them.

Mark Teixeria was going to be a free agent after this season, the Braves where not going to have enough money to sign him back so they trade him and got a good, not outstandingly good, but good first baseman & a pitching prospect. So the trade will help the Braves in the long run. Another problem is that the Braves starting rotation cannot stay healthy. Smoltz & Hudson are better than most starting pitchers at their current age, when healthy.
IMO, the Reds don't know what to do with talent once they get it. Volquez won't last long. He will more than likely be a one hit wonder. The whole Reds organization is a curse, and I'm sure that Pete Rose had something to do with that curse.

Most of that money is already gone. They are still paying Dunn and Griffey parts of their salaries. Also, new draft pick Yonder Alonso inked $4 million in guaranteed money signing a big league contract and he's on the 40 man roster until 2012. I don't think these were money-moving decisions. My opinion, I think the decisions were based on performance. This team just wasn't winning with Dunn and Griffey. I totally agree with shipping Griffey, but Dunn I wish we'd kept. If the Reds had better players around Dunn, then his shortcoming are hidden. Oh well.
What about this? Pick up someone like Joe Crede or Hank Blalock (if his option isn't picked up) and move Encarnarcion to LF?

Whatever happens, EE just needs to be moved from 3B. Put him either in the outfield or at first (and move Votto to OF).
