Fishing At Lake Reba?
#1
Does, or has, anyone fish at Lake Reba in Richmond? I've only been up there a few times but there are always a ton of people up there fishing. Saw someone catch a bluegill while walking by one time.

Is this a good spot to fish? What kind of fish do they have up there? What have you caught?

I have always wondered the same. I have been meaning to go fishing there but with me being a mix of a procrastinator and a busy *** college student I haven't had time....

There are some bluegill, surprisingly a lot of crappie this year, and some bass. Not a great fishing hole, but can be fun to take kids fishing there.

There are tons of bluegill in that lake. Ive caught well over 100 in one day. But i have always wondered, with all that food out there, there has to be some big bass or catfish in there somewhere.

I've been and haven't caught too much... we talked to some people who had walked up the lake to fish and they caught some catfish.

Just channel cats or blues?

Lake Reba is fun to go to, but not very good to fish. If you want to fish around richmond drive out Barnes Mill Rd and either go to Wilgreen Lake or Silver Creek

Are these pretty good for bass or cats?

I have to disagree with alot of these people. I fish it all the time and have caught alot of bass out of there. I really like to fish it myself. In one trip me and my brother caught over 50 bass in one day. You can catch alot of fish there but the big ones are hard to come by because it has alot of pressure.I have also caught some real good bass also, some 4-6 pounders. The only kicker is you need to be in a BOAT.

There are some cats in Wilgreen but not Silver Creek...

Wilgreen is OK for Largemouth....

Silver Creek is one of the best wade fishing streams I have ever fished, tons of nice smallies and largemouth.

Wilgreen Has Some Monster "shellcrackers" And There Is Some Good Bass To Be Caught As Well. However This Lake Also Has Alot Of Fishing Pressure. I Dont Know About Now But They Used To Have Bass Tourneys Ther About Twiced A Week.

iF YOU TALKING ABOUT LAKE REBA I'LL AGREE. THERE ARE TONS OF UNDERSIZED BLUEGILLS. BUT THE BASS BITE IS DECENT IF YOU HAVE A BOAT. IVE CAUGHT SEVERAL NICE BASS IN THE 3-4 POUND RANGE AND IVE SEEN BIGGER ONES CAUGHT.

I'm getting ready to move to Richmond and I have been wondering if I should take my boat or not. I'm in my third year of college, so I'll be pretty busy.

I go to EKU so i'm there a lot, and its always crowded. Lake Reba is a place with lots of different things to do, and I would say fishing is at the bottom on the list; most people play baseball, softball, basketball, and golf there.

I wouldn't until I got there and realizd how much free time you really have. Plus, with gas being so expensive, I wouldn't do it if I were a college student. Do what me and my buddies did and take up wade fishing in some of the EXCELLENT creeks aroudn Richmond
