If Breathitt beats Johnson Central, they will be a threat to make it to Louisville. I think that this game will be close, I think Breathitt wins late by 4, 24-20

That's just a little biased, considering his username! I doubt that Breathitt will score 28 on Johnson Central.

Breathitt only brings back 5 starters on offense this season, so I don't see them scoring 28 on Johnson Central. Johnson Central returns one of the states best defensive backs in Ian Welch, who had 25 interceptions last season. The Central defense also return another really good defensive player in Nathan Dillon.
I'm not making a prediction on the game just yet, its still to soon to really make any predictions on game outcomes right now.

I do realize that JC has talent, but preparing for Breathitt is a lot different than preparing for a typical EKY team that will run the ball 70% of the time at least. Both teams should be prepared for what ever is thrown their way, they have had all summer to analyze each other.

Breathitt scored 591 points last season, they finished as the second highest scoring team in 3A. Thats pretty darn good considering that they outscored teams like Russell, Somerset, Lou. Central, and Paducah Tilghman.

They caught everything.

From what I have heard, Breathitt has a better crop of receivers coming in and should be able to get open more easily. The Haddix kid at QB and the Fugate kid at RB are going to put up big numbers this season in my opinion. Good luck to all teams this season.

The receivers were not getting as open due to the lack of speed, and the corners were undersized and while they did well, had a lot of trouble against big, physical receivers. The lack of size is what has hurt Breathitt in the past few seasons, but I hear they are getting a fresh crop of athletes and that hopefully will make things easier for them. Breathitt while putting up big numbers, has been inconsistent at times lately. Their defense has been full of holes mainly because their corners and safeties inconsistent, and they are usually the same players that play the receiver positions. I wish Breathitt the best and I hope that what I am hearing is true out of Jackson......Go Bobcats! You have to take into consideration who the points were scored against, not very good teams.

If Breathitt didn't play that 11 man within 5 yds. of the line of scrimmage the defense would be much better. They are far better in the 50 than that "Jacket" defense. It has got them beat in the playoffs two times I know of. Prestonsburg beat them at Breathitt and last year against Belfry, one hole and it is a touch down. Not a good defense against a good running team. I hope they don't try it again this year.

To here people talk on this thread you'd think Central's never went against a spread/option offense. When in reality 3 teams in our district run a very similar offense in Woodford, Montgomery and Bryan Station(some). I do think it will be a very competative game, but not because we've never played an offense like Breathitts before. Should be a great game with a great big game atmosphere.

I'm going with Breathitt by 3.Could you call Breathitt the underdog in this game?I like underdogs.

But those kids last year had hands like bear traps when I saw them. They may not have been the most athletic group but they caught anything that was close to them and that made the system that much better IMO.

The Bobcats are going to be a tough game no matter who they play this year...They looked to have as much talent as they have had lately. Anyone that is close to the Bobcat program would admit that last year was a pleasant surprise, not many people expected that team to go 13-1. This year and next will be good years for the Bobcats and from what I hear, they are loaded with talent in their feeder program.

Breathitt has had receivers that can catch the ball, and are loaded with talent this year as compared to the last 3-4 years.

Good luck stopping Channing Fugate. The kid is about 6'2-230 and he is a ripped up brute. If Breathitt has a halfway decent line, Fugate will run all over JC. I'll go on a limb and say Breathitt 35 - JC 21.
