First off... we DID have another player on the team who WAS NOT allowed to attend due to personal issues.
Secondly, We had 10 players until 1 was injured on the crappy grass hump/roll down the first base line....
Third..... The player did not THROW the bat. He is the most laid back child on the team and he tossed the bat. He did not say anything to the umpire and walked off the field with his head down. SO..... Just so you know... the kids are taught NOT to throw bats, helmets, or anything else for that matter..... and he did not THROW it.... (just so you know!!)

Basically, he (the child NOR the coach) is NOT the one(s) to blame here. The umpires already were short fused because of being questioned by one of the coaches over a balk?? or balks??? The 3rd base umpire (and I am NOT exaggerating).... possibly popped a vessel in his neck screaming at the fans. They took out on the kids their frustrations towards the parents. Being impartial is part of calling a good game. IMHO both teams were cheated that night.....

Maybe if he had turned around.... handed the bat to Mr. Umpire ever so nicely and asked him to please give this to the next batter he would have stayed in the game..... NAAA...... they were gonna find a way and he just happened to be the scape goat!!!

He is as laid back as they come and If you knew this kid and/or seen the incident then you would know. How do people make a judgement call on something they did not wittness? Its a shame kids have to go through this kind of crap because of immature adults.

Everything was addressed to the umpires our coach appealed to williamsport but the tourney director wouldnt do that. And isnt there supposed to be warnings issued before ejection is ever thought about.

Actually, most umpires when they have their meeting at home plate, will tell you that this is your warning. And. no they don't have to warn you about anything. Most do just as a courtesy. I am not taking sides of anyone. I was just answering the question.

and no but it shouldnt be that umpires either but hes the one getting paid so thats all that matters to him.

But what happened was he was called strike three and the walked twoard the dugout and slammed the bat down close to the fence, like almost right at the dugout. Slammed is probably best way to put it. Tossed would be more like a under hand heave lol. I would say toss the kid if he said something or tossed slammed threw whatever it twoard another player direction, because that would have been dumb. But he didn't and the bat was in no harms way. I seen that happen more than once at baseball games, pretty much every game you go to. From my view I thought it was a very bad call and should have never been made. To be honest I really dont even think that what happened deserved a warning. But a warning would be the most it did deserve.
And I never seen a ump get so mad at a coach for questioning a call as the one did on a balk. Sad thing is Belfry's coach was correct, the kid stepped off twoards first instead of back. And the Belfry coach called time and just walked up and asked, like you would go ask anybody a simple question.
A experienced ump would say no coach this is what the rules say and this is what I saw, and not go nuts.
I dont know how experienced the ump was behind the plate, but usualy if things like that happen the ump is pretty young, because a veteraned ump never tries to affect the outcome of the game. Its kind of like a Rookie State Trooper and a vet one. A young one will pull you over for thinking of speeding while the older will give you leadway.

BTW congrats to Bowling Green they were a classy bunch of kids. I don't blame them a bit for taking the victory the way they did, Belfry or any other team would have to. But they did it with much class as possible and were men enough to admit it was wrong and should have never happened. They werent clapping celebrating or nothing, that is a great ammount of class.

This is the attitude that everyone needs to take, adults and kids alike. The entire event was terrible to experience but it's over and time to move on. We all need to learn the lessons that this experience taught us. There are bigger and better things in store for Belfry baseball!
