Great turn out. Fastest kid in the forty was from Virgina with a 4.56. Bench Reps was a tie between a kid from Sheldon Clark and a kid from Betsy Layne who both had 25 reps each. the vertical, shuttle and standing long jump i have no idea.

According to the Big Sandy News...
The event attracted players from all-across Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, and even Pennsylvania. State powers that were represented at the combine were, Mercer County, Newport Central Catholic, Scott County, Johnson Central, Sheldon Clark, Prestonsburg, and Hazard.
Award Winners were...
Kristian Skyles of Sheldon Clark was top freshman performer, Channing Smith also of Sheldon Clark got top sophomore performer, Michael Burchett of Prestonsburg was the top junior performer, and Ellis Delahousay of Mercer County was the top senior performer at the Combine.
Prestonsburg's Allen Craynon and Sheldon Clark's Ryan Kelley were the top running backs at the camp and will share the honor.
Ryan Kelley of Sheldon Clark and Korey Jarrell of Betsy Layne each had 25 reps on the 185-pound bench press, which tied for 2nd at the event. Winfield, WV lineman Daniel Thomas had 26 reps and was named the overall winner.

Russell should have went to this, judging by the results they would have been the top performing school there. I'd say there's probably 10 players on Russell's team that can do more than 25 reps with 185lbs. Probably would have had half the top 10 in 40's too. This season is starting to look better already.

Hazard has a full back that can do about 40 bench reps of 185. He has a great advantage because his arms are short.

with all the hype about the combine for the last 3-4 months. Did no one from Pikevile or Paintsville show up? Floyd County only has 4 high schools...did any of those boys show up? Yes they did. I was at the combine. I seen first hand... these Flody County boys. What's the problem with our support? I seen our Floyd County boys do a good job. Where is the hoop-la, the "good show guys"? It was a low turn out if you ask me but our Floyd County boys did good for their first time out. Where in the heck is the community suppot and sportsmanship for our boys? I know a lot about the turnout and how good our boys did. I was just hoping that some others would comment and show these boys how we support them. I know there were 30-40 boys at the combine and most were local boys. I don't care about the WV, Va. boys i want to hear some honest reviews about our Floyd County boys. Any honest adult reviews?

Did this take place during the mandatory dead period?? Just wondering.

No, it was on 7/26. The boys that got 25 reps of 185 can also do over 40 but you could not bounce the weights back up or arch your back.

Dead period ended when?
