I think there were some very good players in the late 70's and early 80's. I can only think of a couple and King and Greg Stamper were two good ones.
#43
Add Mike Helton to the Fairview list.
What about Greenup, Boyd, and the other surrounding counties?

runninrebs21 Wrote:How could you think that? No offense to him, but he averaged what, 10 ppg his senior year? and maybe 4 or 5 rebounds? He didn't even play varsity til his junior year, and wasn't the best player his junior or senior year. Shawn Newsome was his junior year, and Neil Allen was his senior year. He couldn't be on the same court as a top 10 player at AC. Saying he is one of the best 10 players at AC is almost an insult to the school.
Dude I'm pretty sure if you double what stats you posted you'll get what Slone averaged as a Senior. 10ppg 4rpg, are you kidding me. I'm confused to why you go out of your way to bad mouth a player(one who played at the same school as you)..Jealousy maybe, A player who would eaisly bust your *** on the court, At anytime. Its somewhat comical to me, and I'm not the type to take up for a player who I know very little about personally but he did average closer 20ppg and 10rebs as a senior and had a couple 30+pt 15 +rebound games if i recall in hi career. Hey I guess he averaged as many pts. A season as you averaged crossing the half court line...lol...And whats the deal about him not playing Varsity as a Sophomore? He actually saw considerable Minutes that year and he may have even played limited minutes as a Freshman, not sure however. Sorry man but these little comments are making you look like a Very jealous individual. And a Far as Shawn, I can't badmouth him he is could be quiet possibly the best to offense player to put on a jearsey in the 15th region . But anyway I will no longer read this thread because of these little kids acting like they actually know something....Sorry Little boy..I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. Just being realistic. It just annoys me when these little kids get on here and act like they know something bad mouthing their own Alumi!! Just to make themselvs look big or what not. I won't even Get into Allen, didn't really know him eighter but was never impressed at all.

C- Bruce Mullins
PF- Thomas Jennkins
SF- Phil Slone
SG- Shawn Newsome
PG- Jeremy Hall

reserves would be Larry Mullins, Neil Allen, Mark Martin

Looks like the other AC lineups on here but it would be a heck of a lineup thats for sure.
Looks good but I'd have to replace Neil Allen with Mikey Slone and maybe Mark Martin for Nick Sammons or maybe you could bring them both of the bench. Allen Does not belong on this list, It took me a second to figure out who he was at 1st. I'd have Mike backup Phil in this Lineup, Larry would back up Shawn and I'd Move Jeremy to the 2. fyi...Matt Baker would make a great back up for Mullins.

Just a little off topic STAT, but how is Landon adjusting to the College Game.??

Robert newsome was tough!!

Moe Wrote:Robert newsome was tough!!
Sorry to quote myself but he was probabily the most underrated of the group, that Virgie team was stacked from frount to back, I mean even the bench was better than most teams top 5. Coach Rowe and Todd May were the stars But Robert did all the dirty work, he was the windex man.

BTW: It's great to be back on BGR, I just got a new Laptop and have a day off tomorrow so I'm on cloud 9 lol.
