Wow, that tournament was WAY overloaded on one side of the bracket. Shelby Valley and East Ridge were joined on their side by Wyoming East (who went unbeaten and won the whole thing) and Jenkins, who entered the tournament at 16-1.
Meanwhile, the other side consisted of a 6-6 Pikeville squad, and three teams who had losing records. If one had ranked all eight teams prior to the start of the tourney, the four in the SV/ER bracket would have been listed 1-4, while the teams in the other bracket would have been ranked 5-8.
Just not a very good job of balancing the brackets, in my opinion.

In my opinon since Pikeville was the one who hoasted this turnament I think they fixed the bracket so they would be guaranted a spot in the championship game

yeah the best teams in my opinion were the ones who had the hardest bracket.

One other question, maybe someone associated with the tourney can answer.
Why did Jenkins get to play in the third place game, between the two second-place finishers in each bracket? Wyoming East swept that bracket, going 3-0. Jenkins, Shelby Valley, and East Ridge all went 1-2 and theoretically finished in a tie. What was the tiebreaker?
In individual games, SV beat Jenkins, which beat ER, which beat SV.

They went by total runs scored and Jenkins had the most.

OK, thanks.
I had though maybe it was run differential, but total runs sounds like as good a way to break the tie as anything else.
