MARTIN, Tenn. â When the UT-Martin football team goes into battle this fall, itâll have plenty of help from a local man on the sidelines.
Gerad Parker, a former Lawrence County standout and University of Kentucky receiver was recently hired as the Skyhawksâ running backs coach.
âItâs kind of came full circle in the last couple of years,â Parker said of his coaching career. âI feel very blessed to be here.â
Parker played his high school career at Lawrence County and is the all-time leading receiver in Kentucky history with 238 career receptions, 4,814 yards and 52 touchdowns. He continued playing at the collegiate level as a wide receiver at Kentucky, where he was a four-year letterman. As a senior in 2004, he caught 15 passes for 168 yards and was voted UKâs Most Inspirational Player by his teammates after overcoming numerous injuries.
