Predictions?
I believe if the Tigers can take care of the ball and not turn it over and give up easy baskets to the Bulldogs then they will come away with the win in this one. Holmes is the most athletic team that Paintsville has ever faced this season. Paintsville is also going to have to keep Holmes off the boards and not give up easy second chance points. The Bulldogs like to dunk the ball, which is a very good momentum booster for a team that has those types of abilities. It also takes momentum out of the opposing team like Paintsville. The Tigers can win but they are going to have to play mistake free basketball in order to win this one.
GO TIGERS!

Yepp win or lose they sure have made the 15th proud! Would love to see them get past a very talented Holmes team. Something is telling me and a lot of other people I have already talked to about it that they will! Good luck to both teams!

Paintsville will get more votes because of the EKY power on this site.

should be a great one....if landon slone comes to play then theycan go the whole distance in the tourny

Holmes by 8.

Paintsville should get more votes because honestly I think they are the better team. Watched Holmes tonight and don't pressure the ball a whole lot and don't press like JTown did. Holmes got off to a pretty good start not by a solid offensive attack but by careless mistakes made in the backcourt by Bardstown. I don't know how many times they dribbled it off their foot, got hit in the back of the head with it, or just plum threw it out of bounds. Paintsville will need to play very aggressive like they did tonight and the boards will need to be crashed a little better. Holmes stands around quite a bit on D as well and don't really like the fast paced game. Tigers by 8.

Haven't seen Holmes play but after looking at some stats and watching some highlights it looks like they thrive off of turnovers... But I hope your right!

And i'm sure your one of the ones that voted for Holmes? That's okay though. I just wish you could let your anemosity that you have for the Tigers go. The threads go like this. positive, positive, positive, positive, positive, positive, positive, negative, positive, positive. You can probably tell which one yours is.

Did I say a negative thing? No. and Yes, I voted for Holmes.

The only thing that concerns me is that they play only 6 or so and in the state Tournament you have to look at the bench. The may be ok for Frid. but if you play a team that plays 8 or 10 ten no matter what they will have an advantage

If you are on this site and do not pull for the mountain team then I have no idea whay you are on here. Are you sitll 12 and can not want the team that beat you to win!! Is it something even more like a child and "I do not want this team to win" Why can we not realize that we are sometimes are on worst problems. I want my team to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After that, I WANT MOUNTAIN TEAMS TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How in the world can anyone from the mountains not want them to win? Do you not realize that that when they do it makes ALL of the mountains look good? If we go down there and get beat by 20-30 then you read int the paper things like, they played hard, good luck, etc. After reading some of the things I have looked at, know wander we can not get respect!!! Put your school pride aside and realize that we come from the same place.

This should be a pretty good game if Paintsville can take care of the ball and break the press unlike Bardstown tonight. It seemed like Bardstown had a dozen turnovers before halftime because they couldn't get the ball across half-court. Holmes is very athletic and have a lot of size which will hurt Paintsville. Because J-Town dominated the boards against Paintsville tonight and they didnt have nearly the size as Holmes. Holmes don't have anyone that can really shoot that well in which they get most of there points off turnovers. I would really like to see Paintsville take out Holmes but I think it might be too tall of a task. Oh well, hope im wrong. GO TIGERS!!! BEAT THE BULLDOGS!!!

As I previously stated, my heart is with Paintsville, I want them to win and do good because they're a 15th team. But, I have enough common sense to use my head and see that Holmes is the superior team and they receive my vote.

OK this is getting old. They have learned to deal with it and seem to be doing a pretty good job with the teams that play your so called 8 to 10. Not very many High School teams in the state can really go 8 to 10 deep anyway, without a drastic falloff in ability.
Just keep playing your hearts out boys!

Let's see. SV beat Male this season and Male beat who? Oh yeah Holmes. And a dunk is a very over rated shot. Its only worth 2 pts. 3s hurt more than dunks.
If it were SV playing you would be screaming SV is just to athletic for Holmes.
Just do all us mountain folk a favor and cast your vote and remain anonymous.

Id say holmes will pull this one out. I think it would be hard for pville to shoot as good as they did tonight.

They only scored 12 pts in the first half off of 20 Bardstown TOs! I wouldn't call that thriving.

We can win this game if we come out and play OUR game. Paintsville is one of the top 5 scorin teams in the state, Holmes is one of the top 5 scorin defenses in the state. If both teams play friday like they did tonight, Paintsville wins by 10+ IMO. If we take care of the ball, crash the boards, and take care of business on offense and defense, I have no worries.
Go get em boys, keep that fire you've got in your ass and show everybody that mountain boys can play with the "big boys".
GO BIG BLUE

If Landon comes to play like he did tonight, and Grimm plays his ass off in the paint and draws some fouls, Paintsville should be in good shape. Keep them TOs down and look for a very good game. Ill take those 3s any day over a dunk!!

Well, they have made me a believer baby! I'll take the tiger's by 4.
03-20-2008, 02:16 AM
Congrats Tigers! Keep up the determination!
Keys to victory: (1) Limit TO's - this is crucial; (2) Score! It won't take 90 points, but they better be able to put up some balanced numbers; (3) Play aggressive D! We can't match them on the boards, but we can slow them down and force them to shoot jump shots!; and (4) Slow the game down when needed and speed it up when needed. We can't afford foul trouble and don't want to wear ourselves out!
Good luck!!

That's what you said about J-town too wasn't it? I swear you are the biggest homer I've ever seen in my life....you might be in high school still, but you should root for the team that sent you home for the summer/fall.....keep doubting because I love it when someone proves you wrong Kiper!!!
I'm gonna go with Paintsville in a close one. Tigers by 4.

Yea well that same common sense predicted J-town would kill Paintsville as well. So I might change what I base my predictions after that.
