Georgia 60 - Kentucky 56 - OT (SEC Tournament)
#31
That no call was horrid!!!
If it's a foul in the first 44minutes and 59 seconds it was a foul in the last second!
#32
Yea I just dont see how they couldnt call that. I mean Commen Sense that you have to call that. I cant believe not 1 of those Refs tried to overrule that.
#33
A charge is a charge no matter what time of the game it occurs.

shewww dont be saying that, a SEC Ref might get on here and find out what a charge is.

I kinda feel like Billy G tried to lose this game. If UK would have won, they would have got beat by MISS St. He played them 5 guys the entire 40 mins. Why do that if you have a game in 6 hours? Also it would seem perfect to say ohh we lost because of the tornado. I dont know, sometimes I question Billy G. Sometimes I just question the players.

Gillispie didn't try to lose the game. We only played 7 players because thats all we got. What do you think we've been doing lately during our games that we have been winning? Playing 7 players because thats all we got.

How do you think he tried to lose the game?
#37
RavenBoy Wrote:Its not just that about the 7 player deal. No, we have like 13 players that can play. The reason we got beat was because our team was killed, why not play Carter for 5 mins or Stewart for 5 mins, why not Porter for 5 mins. You dont play your players and this is what happends. Next year only 5 players will have experience.

Smile so your saying we have started winning games because we only play 6 or 7 players instead of 8.

Hello, both Stewart and Porter played today. So before you go and say Coach Gillispie tried to lose the game by only playing 6 players, you need to eitehr pay attention to the people that played in the game or go look at the stats of the people that was in the game.

After Patterson got injured who do you think we've been playing and winning with? The exact same 8 players that played today.

If you don't believe me here...
UF we only played 8 players, same as today. UT we only play 8 players, same as today. USC we only played 8 players, same as today.

So yea this is what happens when you don't play Jared Carter and the rest of the other walkons

You cant count Stewart and Porter, if you combine both of there mins, what do you get? 2 mins.

Patrick Patterson was coming to Kentucky before Tubby ever left. Trust me, there's no way that Billy G could have played a major role in Patterson's coming to UK in the short period of time he got to recruit him.

Here are the minutes...

Porter-1 minute
Coury-4 minutes
Stewart-5 minutes

So between all 3 of them they only played 1/4 of the total game. And the funny part is Coury is still a starter.

Because Kentucky got down early and couldn't afford not to have their best five on the floor for the entire game. And you know that Gillispie was not playing this game for next year, they wanted to win the SEC Tournament!

Yea I dont understand that.

They just showed the highlights on ESPN of the UK game and Bob Knight said that it dont matter if its the 1st min or last min, it was a obvious foul.
Of Course Digger said it wasent a foul.

I thought it was a great coaching move by Billy G to force the foul on the out of bounds play, they just didn't get the call.

Do you think it was also a good move to tell Stephenson to goal tend? You would think he would atleast, if nothing else, know that would get him a technical foul.

I thought it was a good idea untill they called the T. What was said tho was that Stevenson stepped in the lane early and just thought he would goaltend it because he already stepped in.

Smile Smile That was really strange, Dave Baker said that he thought he had just lost his balance and swatted the free throw not knowing it would be a technical. I really thought that I saw Gillispie signal to Stevenson to block the shot though.

I didn't hear that part. The guys on the radio said they seen Billy signal for him to do that. If he really did, he's an idiot, that's an obvious T.
#50
Why would Billy G lose the game on purpose, ????LOL.. They are a bubble team. You have to win one game to get to the next one and that is what he tried to do and didn't!

Well like I said, I had my TV on mute and was listening to XM. I believe you I was just telling you what the radio said.

I Watched It Many Years Ago When I Was Coaching, And Now I Get To Keep Watching It. Thers Was And Is An Unwritten Law By The Officals That They Will Not Decide The Game At The End. They Say We Want To Leave It Up To The Players....

Here was what Gillispie said," I wanted to makre sure that we got a chance to inbound the ball, if georgia tried to miss it intentional. Billy G assumed the call would be goaltending and was unaware that it was a technical-foul. He said they have practiced that play before but said it was his fault because he didnt know it was a automatic technical.

That's really embarrasing for Billy G. If you coach the most prestigious basketball school in the country and you don't even know all the rules, especially in a situation where it cost you even getting a good shot off, he should really be ashamed to call himself a coach. I was cutting him some slack and just thought that maybe Stephenson did it on his own, but this is just rediculus.

As a matter of fact it could very well cost him a shot at the NCAA tournament. Maybe not that one play, but the whole entire fact that he didn't have his team ready to compete.

Exactly. I don't understand why everyone is suddenly shocked that we have nobody coming off of the bench, it's been that way all year, especially as of late.
#58
Both teams played hard with some really physical defense. Good game by both. As for the final shot, you have to give the kid credit. Harris was in front of him and a turnaround three is not exactly a high percentage shot. Sometime if you throw them up they do go in. Stuff happens.

It never caught up to us until now, that is the reason we lost this game.
No Wonder Patterson is hurt, he dont get no rest.
