Congrats JC you deserve the win.:thatsfunn
Now I know KK missed more than 2 shots, and its not only scoring on the offensive end there is much more to it. It is driving into the lane, kicking it out and finding your open man/girl. Tonight the guards just did not show up for the Lady Hawks. It was like they were all in a daze and did not know what was going on. I will give you that she was face guarded in the fourth quarter but when she is your outside threat game in and game out Wiremann is going to face guard her even if she is having a bad night hitting what I think was 2-6 from behind the arch or around there. When you are Butcher even if she is having a bad night you have to set some screen to get her open but there was nothing.

The facility is not designed for just basketball and they are actually more like tiny dressing rooms rather than locker rooms, like for concert or stage performers. Unless you keep your voices low the team next door can hear every word said in the neighboring locker room. It is close back there and not a good place for private pre-game talk. No way to avoid other teams the way benches and locker rooms were assigned. With a couple of those PC girls nothing would surprise me.
thanks for clearing that up it had been forever since I had been in them. Now just so you know I wasn't saying they wouldn't have said it just said it was unlikely.

The problem tonight was the Lady Hawks just sucked. They could not hit a shot, played poor on the defensive end. Butcher did not change up his defense the entire game besides going into a press and pulling out of it. The help on the offensive end that normally have from Slone, Harris and Ratliff were not there. In the first quarter JCHS went man and Pike Central punded the ball inside to Lowe who had 12 in the first quarter. Wiremann made the adjustments and went to a zone. Every time Lowe touched the ball she was double teamed. It was all around Pike Central's fault point blank. It was Butchers fault and the teams fault.
Butcher has coached his girls the same all year long and it's won games. If the players don't execute, it's not his fault.

Good god everyone I am not placing all the blame on Butcher how many times do I have to repeat my self. Something has been broke in what they have been doing since the loss of Phelps the offense was not executing as well as they had. Here is an interesting fact from a PC player. Every since I made the statement that everyone had found the way to beat Pike Central (hints: running a 2-3 zone, fronting the post and having weak side help, and pinching your guard inside every time the ball goes inside the paint)...Butcher has not once went over a zone offense. I love Butcher as a coach I just feel he could have done something differently. If you are getting beat at half time and things are not working in my eyes you must make some type of adjustment. Coaching against some one like Wiremann who may I add you have already played twice is GOING TO BE READY FOR YOU. You can not do the same thing against him 3 times and expect to win them all. But hey I am just a spectator so take it as you may. The girls played terrible point blank if they had played well then yes Butcher's game plan would have worked and they would have won. But the fact remains the girls played bad the game plan was not working and no changes were made. Fault has to be given to both.

Fact of the matter is Pike Central did not come out to play in this one. From the tip, Johnson Central had a tenacity that the Hawks could never overcome. Johnson Central flat out wanted the game more and it showed in the way they performed. Pike Central's performance last night was probably one of the worst that I have seen from this team. No one wanted to step up and help Lowe. The guards weren't contributors, as they normally are, and seemed timid from the start. The loss had nothing to do with the officiating of this game, as many of you have said. True, there were some questionable calls made, but aren't there always. Furthermore, those complaining about not enough fouls being called, at one point there was a 17-8 foul discrepancy, as FOXSPORTS mentioned...(with the 17 being against JC) And for those fans who are so rude and obnoxious while in the stands shouting obscenities at the refs and the players, SHAME ON YOU!! It is one thing to heckle the refs, but to stand and shout obscenities so the whole gym can hear you is just totally un-called for. Also, to heckle and scream at the players from the stands like I heard some of you doing is distasteful and completely out of line. You must remember that these girls range in age from 13-18 years old. They are kids and will make mistakes. By no means will you ever see a "PERFECT " game played or called and furthermore, I would love to see any of you play or call a "PERFECT" game! These girls played their hearts out, and for that they should be commended, not heckled or cursed by those who are supposed to be their supporters.
Johnson Central is a well balanced team with a well balanced attack. They work together to achieve one common goal... To WIN!! They have so many that contribute to their success, which shows in the fact that they placed four in double figures last night. This team is definitely not just a one woman show!! Coach Wireman is a great coach and gets the best out of his girls. He knows what needs to be done pressure situations and has taught his girls to execute his plans to near perfection. I must say, Coach Wireman completely out coached Butcher.
Congrats JC. Make the 15th proud at state. Also congrats go out to the Lady Hawks for having a great season... Nothing to hang your heads about.

This year takes the cake for blowing a title that should have been at PC. This tops the year Betsy layne defeated PC AT JOHNSON CENTRAL !
Don't remember this, but I do remember Betsy Layne beatin Johnson Central AT Johnson Central in 2003 when JC had EVERYBODY back from the 2002 Region Champs team.

Anyway, Coach Butcher was not with them, but when they walked back through he was with them, and they didn't say anything.
Trust me, Wireman isn't going to make this up. He's not like that, and he respects PCs team. It's really not a big deal - kids are kids - he just was shocked at their boldness.
And, I hate that the girls hand was broken, but we honestly had no idea.
That's garbage. Didn't happen and you and Wireman know it !

Very Well Said Brainbuster, I agree with you on everything. I"m a coach myself and you cannot expect perfection game in and game out because if you do you are in the wrong profession of coaching. I think the world of Butcher but to be honest he did get outcoached. I dont' understand some of his coaching, but he is the head coach and every coach has their own style and way of coaching. As for the fans, did anyone notice who mostly was doing all the yelling badly: the former principal Mr. McCoy. I was disappointed in how he acted because he should still a role model for the students whether he is in education or not because he was an educator. Oh well, just my personal opinion.
I wish JC best of luck in state. Pike Central, keep your heads up and move on next year.

Well apparantly there are rampant rumors about the pc girls saying nasty things to Wireman. I have been informed by several pc girls who said they didnt even go by the jc locker room going in or going out. Everyone gets a little hot under the collar over games at tournament time. However, if anyone watched the game they saw sportsmanship on the part of pc and no bad behavior in reaction to their loss by fans or players. Just because jc outplayed pc doesnt mean pc players and fans are all rude and bad..unfortunately they just played bad. You will find good and bad people in all situations. Remember...it was just a game. Now instead of trying to create bad feelings between two schools, lets all support jc in their upcoming battle at Diddle and move on.

Agreed crawdad and for the most part I think all of us PC fans have attempted to do that. No one has placed blame on anyone besides our team and that is what I was happy to see. Now Lady Eagles take the 15th to state and make us proud.

PC made a run with Coleman in the game and it seemed like to me that Jc wanted her out. ( She has a broken hand btw after an many elbows and getting thrown to the ground in the beginning of the game). It just seemed like PC didnt wanna play defense. You must have been at a different game. At one point late in the third or so the fouls were 17 on jc 4 on pc.
This statement might be a little bias since im a pc fan but that's the way see it.

I ment 17-8 my bad.. But the thing with the shirts all teams do it you put in a pre- order or desighn so if ou do win then they will hae the design to print them and have them ready in time. I have been with many teams and most if not all do this so they can get them quickly.
Congrats Hawks on a Great season.
And way to go LADY EAGLES We'll be heading to western to cheer you on!!!!!

Well considering #21 looked like she wanted to fight her from the beginning of the game ..
And when they were scraping for that loose ball she elbow her hand ... Clearly
I believe that an elbow to the hand is one of the million ways
but Please dont hurt me with your knowledge anymore
I surrender

I was at this game - and I seem to remember a certain player from PC hanging on a JC player's jersey. Stop being a sore loser and support this group of girls. I've watched both teams play this year and said all along these two teams would be in the finals. JC played as a team and came out to win and did so. Lady Eagles good luck at state - I think Conley, Wireman, Salyers and the rest of the team seem like a great bunch of girls. ( Not to get off topic but I can't wait to see Conley during softball.) Kayla Lowe - one word - awesome.
