Powell starts off the region with a victory over Leslie County. Congrats to Powell on a good win and best of luck to Leslie!! Don't keep your heads down!! You all played hard!! Sorry for the seniors for Leslie also!! Now the Pirates will take on Knott Central.

Leslie made a run late and tied it up, then Powell was driving to the basket, and one ref calls a charge and the other ref calls a block???? one over rules the other, don't think that can happen can it???? I'm pretty sure you suppose to take both fouls, but instead they let powell shoot freethrows and take the lead. Critical call in the game, and of course they messed it up. What do you expect out of the 15th region. Congrats to Powell and good luck against Knott.

I believe its the 14th region.

The refs were from the 15th region. Can't have 14th region refs in a 14th region tourney.

The referee's actually can do that. As long as they discuss the call one can over rule the other. Not trying to bash you or anything just letting you know what is right. Thats all.

First of all Powell shot 51 free throws to be exact. Leslie shot 21. Powell drove to the basket and Leslie stayed around the perimeter till the 4th quarter.

Second, a Ref should be able to talk and discuss a call such as out of bounds or something like that, but as far as over ruling on a foul, I don't think that is allowed. I'm pretty sure if 2 refs call 2 different things, shouldn't they report both, such as a double foul, and then go with the point of inter-ruption? wasn't that some kind of rule change a few years back? Just wondering if they interpreted the rule wrong or what? It was just not a good place for the refs to confer and let one over rule the other when both called totally opposite things! This was not like a ball deflecting off another girl and one ref didn't see it, they both saw things perfectly and called totally different things, I'll just tell you how they handled it couldn't of been the right thing to do!

Very good game...Leslie had a chance to take the lead with about a minute left and missed a 3, which was a huge shot. Nevertheless i thought the calls made in the game as a whole were pretty good, cpl bad calls both ways. I was really impressed with the PG from Powell, thought she made the difference in the game. Very solid player, along with McFarland inside friday night KCC will have their hands full if they want to make it to the regional finals!

Dude, calm down. I never said that they was dogging on Powell County. I was just trying ti help them.....but they didn't neeed to help obviously.

Great game but some of PC's players have got to use their heads. They have to know what is at stake. What I am referring to is, dumb fouls during crunch time when your only up by 2 pts. I saw one girl make an excellent screen, she then threw an elbow and drew a foul...Leslie sank the free throws to go up by one. Thank goodness PC hit most of their free throws. Leslie was starting to get in their heads towards the end. Go Pirates...you are representing well.

no other place than Powell County. It's bad when you shoot 50+ free throws in the regular season against a team when they only shoot 15 or so....but when it's the region and the refs are from another region...something has got to be going on.... :confused: Dont worry Leslie you all had a good season.

There is nothing going on out powell...like someone said above...powell drove to the basket the whole time as leslie depended on the outside shot till the 4th quarter. The refs are from the 15th region not the 14th so they had nothing to do with the way the game was called. They called it as it was seen...and once again powell wins and someone(not even from the team that lost is on here whining again) GROW UP!!!!

fyi there is nothing going on in powell county. powell girls just had more heart and wanted it more. all bad calls against them? i am sure that we were the only ones to have a player foul out . please explain that if somethings going in.

they played a good fair game. what i saw was alot of our girls getting knocked to the floor and no calls were made . so no the LADY PIRATES did not cheat !!!!how can the players cheat? that's so ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!we can't help it if the other teams can't keep their hands off of us. oh well i think our girls are awesome and go all the way if they really want it.

Im not sayin that it was only because of the refs is why LC lost that game BUT they had a BIG part in it. I dont know how grown men can sleep at night after cheating a bunch of KIDS! I have heard different ppl in this region say that they will not go back to Powell Co. to play during the season because how the games are called. I would be ashamed.

Oh and something needs to be done with the students at PC... I heard them makin fun of LC's Boggs because of her knee... that was uncalled for. Boggs has been through so much during her high school career and should not be made fun of. She is one heck of a ball player even after having 3 knee surgeries and fixing to have another. Plus she had a broke wrist this season and came back! So guys GROW UP!!! If I was guessing you all would have stooped playing if all of that had happened to you.
