Wednesday:

Bath Co. vs. Ashland
Raceland vs. East Carter

Thursday:

Elliott Co. vs. Greenup Co.
Rose Hill vs. Rowan Co.

Elliot/Rose Hill should be a good 2nd round match-up. It seems like the best teams in their respected regions are in the same bracket (Paintsville/Shelby Valley). You gotta love March Madness.

There's some interesting facts you all might want to know before you make your 16th region picks.

Report is that the Knipp brothers on Elliot county quit Friday night after not coming to practice on Thursday.

Bath county beat East Carter @ East Carter by 11.

My pick for the final game is Bath county and Rose Hill and they've split their games this year but I'm picking Bath county on the neutral court. Bath county goes to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1977.

Yea as of right now im gonna have to go with Elliott Co.

Bath vs. Ashland = Ashland (never count the Tomcats out)
Raceland vs. East = Raceland (EC is very good but Raceland is playing awfully well right now, this one depends on how healthy T. Boyles is and how much he can play)

Elliot vs. GCHS = Elliot
Rose Hill vs. Rowan = Rose Hill

2nd round

Ashland vs. Raceland = Raceland
Elliot vs. Rose Hill = Rose Hill (Elliot has had some internal problems)

Final

Raceland vs. Rose Hill = Rose Hill (16th region champs)

Unlikely final but hey, this is March madness and I have made some crazy picks.
I also love the fact that the class A schools have done so well this season in the 16th region, I am a small school fan- gotta pull for the little guys.

Haha, you wouldn't happen to be from the Ashland area would you? You wouldn't happen to have watched Bath county play this year have you? Maybe when they beat Rose Hill by 20?

I think it's going to come down to Bath county and Elliot in the final game and it's a tossup who wins it, I believe. Especially if Elliot's Timmy Knipp REALLY did quit.

Yes, I am from the area that you mentioned (lol) but not from Ashland. I have not seen Bath play, I have talked to several people that have and know the game very well. I know that Bath is an excellent team, no doubt about it. A game between Bath and Raceland (my alma mater)was cancelled and not made up.
Like I said, I am just picking Ashland in an upset, they are down but have been playing well of late and .......they are still Ashland and have that "Tomcat tradition" and are capable of beating anyone. So, I fully realize that Bath is very good and should be favored :thumpsup: , just picking an upset.

Your pick of Bath and Elliot sounds good and for what it's worth I heard that both the kids at Elliot were back on the team. My opinion is that was another thing that was probably blown out of proportion, not sure.
Should Raceland not make it to the finals then I do hope that Bath, Elliot or Rose Hill does and moves on to Rupp. I love the small (class A) schools.

I think that the favorites are still alive in the 16th. I didn't consider Ashland beating bath an upset like a lot of people did. Elliot, Rose Hill and East Are still the favorites I would think. Ashland could also very well get in there, I would never count them out in the 16th.

It doesn't really do anything. East Carter has been one of the top teams all season long in the 16th. I expect they will have there way with Ashland much like they did with Raceland.
