Let's be honest here. Conley wasn't the only one in foul trouble. 4 out of 5 starters had fouls within the first 3 minutes or so. Foul situation at the half was JC 12 - MC 4.
JC shot 1 freethrow and MC shot 16 in the first half.

Some of the most unbelievable, obviously terrible calls I have ever seen. We were just stronger and able to overcome it.

Conley's awesome; she had a great game, but it was a total team effort - just as it should be and needs to be for this team to go where they want to go.

Congratulations girls. We're very proud of all of you. Keep it up!!

Magoffin has had a tough year. I'm afraid this is the start to a long region drought.

Injuries can having to any team, Coach Miller will be back and with the experience the girls gain this year, they will be favorite in district next year with JC.
#16
It's hard to be favored in the district when you can't get the ball across half court.
#17
Congrats JC

I agree they were awful and everyone was in foul trouble except for meek.. I was just Telling the leading scores because someone ask for some stats.
This JC team has played there best when all them score from 6-15 points.
They are clicking at the right time.
Goodluck girls ill be cheering for you.
GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!

I find that hard to believe honestly. From the games I've seen her play with her aggressive style she is the one that normally picks up a few fouls quick in the game. Conley coming back this season has really helped this Lady Eagle squad. I honestly believe that if they can take care of PCC, then they are on their way to Diddle.

Magoffin has been playing w/o their main point guard Ashley Hall who did most of the ball handling all year, maybe that could be a reason its been tough to get past half court. She is recovering fast and is hittin the gym as soon as she is beter. She is determined to bring home another district championship and make a run for the regionals championship next year. I hope all the girls will get the same attitude b/c they have tremendous loads of talent!

Let's be honest here. Magoffin isn't only in a long region drought, but they are years away from ever being considererd the favorite in the district. The injuries aren't the main reason why this team struggled throughout the season. The talent that the Lady Hornets enjoyed for the past several years just isn't nearly the same. But the fact remains that this sort of season was clearly going to happen. Magoffin's girls basketball program has not been prepared to survive the long haul. Their recent success relied heavily on the talent of several girls and now the current team is paying the consequences. It's easy to see that this team has potential, but that potential will never be reached unless there is a major increase in their devlopment. In my opinion, this lies directly with the coaching staff. If Magoffin wants to point any fingers for their awful season, and the ones to come, look no further than the head coach. These girls have had limited experience throughout the past several years and now they are expected to fill leading roles. Watching this game last night proves one thing. Magoffin county girls basketball won't be back for a long time.

I agree 100%. Good luck girls!

Magoffin County just needs every girl to be healthy for next year...at the beginning of the year they were doing great...but then it just went down hill seems like after all the injuries from 3 starters.
Ashley Hall played JC in the 1st round this year and even then they couldnt get passed half court... seems like they still got beat by 30 or more pts.
I hope they can get it together for next year...

You hit the nail on the head. Don't blame the season on the injuries, blame it on the head coach for not preparing the girls in years past.

Blame it on who ever you want to.

And while your at it, blame it on the Superintendent, School Board and the Principal too, for not allowing the girls team to have more coaching positions, in order to develop the younger talent. The boys have more coaches. Kind of like a Title 9 violation, now that I think about.

But be real! I guess that he was suposed to sit the best and most sucessful basketball players (boys or girls, they were the best) to ever come through the school system.

Ashley Howard, Michaela Howard and Brittany Manns, are the all time leading scorers at Magoffin County High School.

Sit them? Name one coach who would have!

Speaking of how bad we are.

Prior to Magoffin Losing Ashley Hall; They had beat Paintsville, Lawrence and Sheldon Clark. Sound like had she not went down with injury; they would have been a playing in the 2-3 game and stayed away from Johnson Central.

So there chances of returning to the Regional tounament were very good; prior to the injury

And they still had to flip for the 3rd seed, anyways with how bad the girls played. The rest of the 57th isn't very strong either; excluding Johnson Central.

One more thing, the boys have 2 paid assistants, same as the girls. The boys team just has more volunteers helping with thier program. So how can you blame the Superintendent, School board, and the Principal for the fact that no one wants to help the girls program.
#30
You are wrong the boys have 3 paid assistants.
