phillip_hall83 Wrote:who will be top linemen in the mountains in 08 09Here at Pikeville I have a kid who is going to be a third year starter on both offensive and defensive lines. His name is Trey Branham and I believe that he has all the tools to be one of the best if not the best lineman in the mountains. I also feel good about a crop of younger kids that have a lot of potential to be really special. I just figured I would name my senior first.

I expect Josh Salisbury and Justin Pennington will have to have a great season for Ashland to really improve upfront, and as a team.

Train ur absolutely right Trey is a beast and Pikeville's line this year will also average around 250 so we should be alright

Justin Pennington was probably the best we went up against. He is a true stud with a high motor. The Salisbury kid was pretty impressive as well.

Trey Branham will manhandle anyone who he lines up across from this upcoming season... he's a beast

Letcher Central lost Matt Chandler at Center, Josh McFall and David Adams at Tackle and Zach Hogg at Guard. Chase Knight will be the only returning starter next year, and in my opinion can be one of the best Offensive Linemen in the Mountains if he can stay healthy.
There will be position battles all along the rest of the line next year, with the most important being at Center. It's a crucial position in LCC's offense, but with the blocking schemes they use you generally get a lot of good angles on defenders.

brooks for prez, i heard letcher central will have to run sophmores and freshman to feel in the places lost is this true because experiance plays a major role in high school football

It's a good possibility. If they don't have freshmen and sophomores starting on the offensive line, then they will certainly have them as backups for the starters.

BELFRY , will some of the best linemen in the state.

I see Mikael Campbell and Austin Maggard making noise on D-line next year....as well as Aaron Moore, Corey Martin, Allan Fugate, and Jon howard being real hard to get around to get to Olinger next season....its all about the weightroom and lineman camps haha....

That Austin Maggard is a bear...I'd hate to have him mad at me!
02-24-2008, 08:35 PM
Yeah...that Maggard boy is...lol. But our whole offensive line comes back next season with 4 juniors and one senior. Our whole defensive line comes back with 2 seniors and 2 juniors....we should be loaded lineman wise next season. Our 3 strongest would be, in no order our Fullback Austin Blanton, D-lineman Austin Maggard, and Reciever Michael Campbell....but we dont have a starter benching squatting or powercleaning under 200 lbs....so were generally pretty strong...lol

Hazards D and O line are going to be great. so watch out for the d-line they will be coming and coming hard. mikael campbell and austin maggard and corey martin and tj searcy will make the opposing team sweat.
