Before everyone starts jumping on you, I am going to correct you and say that she was nominated to be a Mcdonald's All American. No girls from Kentucky actually made the team. It is HUGE that she was nominated. There were only 2 from Eastern KY that were even nominated. She is an outstanding player and deserves every award that she has gotten.

Congrats Kayla!!! You've had such a great run at Pike Central. I wish you the best in everything you do!

Definately a "Class Act". Congrats to the"best".

Congrats to Kayla Lowe she is an awesome player and is the best in the 15th region. Best of luck to Kayla in the upcoming years were ever you choose to play ball.

Kayla has been one of the greatest to come out of Pike Central. When mentioning her name you have to mention her with the greats such as Haley Ratliff, Amanda Collins and Ashley Melvin. She has one of the biggest hearts out of any player I have seen. I know i have been hard on her over the past 4 years on here but I have saw a huge transition of what I use to say. Kayla I just want to say that as a former class mate I am very proud of you. You have been a great leader on and off the court, your will to win is tremendous and your off the court attitude is one of the best. Good Luck to you on all future activities, now bring us home a district and regional championship. GO LADY HAWKS!

I'm not a Pike Central fan, but I have to agree. Kayla is a great player; the only one of the above mentioned that I think even belong in the same sentence with her is Amanda Collins. The other two never did really impress me very much, but Collins was a workhorse in high school and college. Good Luck to you, Kayla. Can't say I'll be rooting for you or Pike Central in the Regional Tournament, but good luck anyway.

Congratz big to Kayla Lowe. She has been one of the elite players in the region for a long time. All of her awards she recived she very much so deserved. I am very glad for her to be at Pike Central and I hope she gets the team together and make a 2 peat at region and another big RUN at State.

Looks like UT and Rutgers are gonna be loaded in the years to come.
you have to be joking, kayla is a super player, but so are haley and the other girls mentioned. anyone who would say they don't belong in the same sentence is either lost, has a personal problem, or doesen't know the game of basketball!!!!

You're wrong on all 3 counts: not lost, no personal problem and I do know the game. I didn't say they weren't good; I said they didn't impress me as much as the other two. I could go in to some specifics, but I won't because it's pointless. It's my opinion, just as your opinion is yours. We don't have to agree.
02-24-2008, 01:49 AM
your right we don't have to agree, and i'm not even saying they are better than Kayla Lowe, but to say they don't even belong in the same sentence is where I strongly disagree!

I think Ratliff, Lowe, and Collins are all on the same level. Melvin was a great player, but a level below those 3 IMO. I will wait and see how Ratliff and Lowe complete their collegiate careers before I make a final call on comparing the 3. Collins playing 4 years of NAIA college ball and being an All-American on that level means a lot. Not many eastern KY athletes stick it out and complete their careers and most importantly their EDUCATIONS. I will see where the other 2 end up before I decide!

Thanks for the help there; that's part of what I was basing my statement on. You did a good job of putting it into words for me.

she blew out her knee during the preseason and had to red shirt she is now back practicing. She would have been starting for University of the Cumberlands if it had not happened.
