I'd like to see the stats and fouls for this game, internet sounded like there were like twice the amount of fouls called on Valley then when they played at Valley.
Congrats Pikeville, go beat Paintsville.

wow.
01-25-2008, 09:10 PM
looks to me the 15th is completely wide open.
01-25-2008, 09:10 PM
IMO SV hasn't been playing their best of late.

Uh, not quite. As bad as Valley played tonight there's no way anyone can say they had a great game.
Congrats go to Pikeville, they obviously wanted it more. If Valley is content to just fire up a three each time down the court, they don't deserve to win. And they won't beat any good teams if they play like this again.

Easier said than done.

Very much so, but Pikeville is a good team, no one in their right mind would say they aren't, and they are capable of beating Paintsville if Devan gets touches.

I thought if these two played 4 times this year Pikeville would win one of them.
01-25-2008, 09:20 PM
Good thing is, this isn't a district loss.

Very true! now that this loss is out of their system I think this game will help SV more in the long run. JMO

Wow, Big Congrats to Pikeville!

I'm still in shock, and not because they lost. I can't believe how many 3's Valley shot durin this game. I don't think they shot one ball inside the 3 point line the entire 4th quarter...

I agree, not a typical SV performance IMO

Not at all.

IMO I think this loss for Shelby Valley will just make them even more determined because they now know that they can be beat by a team in the reigion

Pikeville is a very good team and could pose alot of problems for the Tigers. They are very capable of beating the Tigers. It should be a great game.

Pikeville would have to play their best to beat Paintsville but they are capable of pulling it off.

I don't want to take anything away from Pikeville. This way a huge win for them and they deserved it, but IMO Valley hasn't been playing their best in the last couple of weeks and Paintsville as been red hot. I think they will find it a little tougher road to hold tomorrow night. I do think it will be close though. jmo

Congratulations to Panther Players it has been a long time coming and you deserved it.
Booher completely dropped the ball on this one. Shelby Valley lacked intensity and let Pikeville completely control the tempo of this game. Valley never really went into and all out press for more than a minute or so all night. They would set up in a zone press and just back up with the ball.
Any decent team that is willing to play a 2-3 zone can beat Valley. They are content to walk it up throw it around a jack up a three.
Pikeville shot 23 free throws to Valleys's 3.
Anyone close to the SV program knows they have not played well since the trip to New York and if they dont get their mojo back they will not win the region. Where are the days of an all out assault on the defensive end and an unsefishness that would make any old school basketball purist smile.
No loss is a good loss but now they need to rally the wagons realize everybody in the region wants to beat them badly and start playing with some heart and intensity.
Thumbs up to Bart Williams and staff because you coached a heck of a game.
