Majerus was speaking his own opinion; he was not representing the views of the University. He spoke eloquently about how he lost family in WWII and friends in Viet Nam, men who died to preserve the very freedom of speech Majerus was exercising. Here is the very rot of the religious: it is not enough for them to believe as they desire; they must silence those who disagree; it is not enough for them to say and do in keeping with their own conscience, they seek to compel the consciences of others. Religion poisons everything.
