My cousin was logged in on his account while i was browsing.... simple mistake.

Thinking about it more Swag. Paul Deese is by far the best player to ever play at ER. Hands down. He played QB, RB, WR, OLB, CB, S in his one year career at The Ridge. Jeremy is still a close second, but looking at the stats I would have to say Paul

IMO I think you must have watched a completely different season!!! Paul Deese might have been put down for those positions, but that doesn't mean he did a good job at all of them. Paul had all the talent to be a great quarter back, but lacked the mental aspect of the game to really shine. And also lacked the value of the word "TEAM"!!!

I am going to say Dave Hall was one of the best if not the best to play for Wheelwright.... In the 80's he was being recruited by several SEC schools and was one of the top recruits in the state his senior year, and was the top rated running back...... :?:

Let me first say that I didn't care much for the attitude Deese showed on the field or on the basketball court.

But I won't let that stop me from saying that he is BY FAR the best football player I have seen to wear an East Ridge uniform. He may not have understood the concept of team, but he is a player.

Actually, he was the 2nd best QB Belfry played against this year, behind O'Cath's Zach Barnard.. Apologies to Trevor Compton of P'Burg, but put Deese on a good team and IMO he would outplay Compton.

Gordon Varney at Pike Central.
That guy is unbelievable. Justin Mccurry at a close second.
#42
Pikeville has had a lot in its rich tradition....

(In no order)
Robbie Wright
Chase Gibson
Bob Shurtleff
Neil Smith

....Shoot...there are so many more I just am too young to know them all.....

Let me just say everybody has 1 good game, and the game he had at Belfry was by far the best game he played the whole season. So, unless you actually attended all the games you really don't know what your talking about! IMO he might of been one of the best quarterbacks so far, but definitely not the best player to come through ER.. just wait and see the linebacker or whatever position he plays in the upcoming season and you will see who is the best player to come through ER!!!!

I saw enough to tell me he could play rings around the other guys on ER's team, doll_baby.

Did anybody else on ER's team rush for over 1,000 yards? No they didn't.
I call it like I see it, and thus far he is the best player I've seen play at East Ridge. But I never said he always will be.

Well, next year you will think differently

I really hope so, because he isn't the kinda guy anyone would like to give credit to. But I'm still not gonna let it stop me from telling the truth.

Good luck next year.

Hank Simpson, Paul Deese, and Jeremy Vanover.

Swag Paul was a great player hes right at the top of the best, i just think you hold a tight grudge on him because you ran your mouth alot and he didn't care to tell you his mind, yeah he gave you a rough time but you did run your mouth alot.

I never ran my mouth alot... that is something i never do. Paul just had a bad attitude toward me. that is why i didnt like him. and yes i hold a tight grudge, cause several times in the locker room, he came over acting all big and threatening to beat the crap out of me for no reason. Coach D just looked the other way about that. I just didnt like Paul as a person. why cant i have an opinion on someone without getting ripped apart for it? it seems like everyone that played for us was in the Paul Deese fan club.

Isn't this thread about the best overall football player not about paul deese's attitude on or off the field. There is without a doubt that Paul was the best football player at ER. No one has put up better numbers then Paul in their short history as a school so therefore he should be considered the best football player so far.

Doll_Baby: Let me just say that you have to have more then one good game to rush for 1088 yards and to throw for 1032 yards.

Mlb33: Don't start telling people that they will think differently because you must prove yourself first.

If you would have punched him in the mouth the first time you had an incident with him, it would have been the only incident.

Catch my drift?

Win, lose, or draw he would not have came over to your locker acting a fool anymore.

Phenomenon: Im sorry my bad for not quoteing and clarifying what comment I was responding to. I was answering the comment about how deese was the only good player east ridge had last year. I am just letting everyone know that now that paul is gone some of our talented players will not be overshadowed like last year. I have never once said I was better than paul, I have always said he was a great athlete. Never said he was a great person but a great athlete he was. I guess that is all that matters then right?

When you are the only one to touch the ball after its been snapped, I say it is pretty easy to rush 1088 yards....Don't know where you came up with the throwing, but oh well WHO CARES? Sounds like someone is pretty attached to ole" Deese!!!
#54
Also Phenomenon numbers dont always prove how good of a football player someone is (if some one refuses to pass the ball even when he has the small window then sure he can rush all the yards he wants, but what is more important getting all you can get or winning the game?), I admitt most of the time it does, however if you would unlodge your head from Paul Deese's butt for one second you might notice the other 10 guys on the field doing some other things just as good or even better than paul did!....Justt not putting Points on the board when they're doing it. The litle things win ball games, and dont even try to tell me if your some fan that you do know what your talking about. Unless you was on the field as a football player for ER you dont understand what we had to put up with everyday and I can say whatever I want to say unless I get kicked off (frankly I don't think I have crossed any line by saying you will see.) But I think I did a dang good job showing anyone who wanted to see that I was a good football player last year, and for people to go on like paul is god it just makes me sick.... And I have the feeling you know exactly what I am talking about!

very good intellegent post mlb. i for one think that you did a great job on the team last year though and i am looking forward to seeing you play this year. from what i hear, you should be the best on the team come this season....good luck and remember to be careful but have fun!

mlb33: You don't have to be a player on the field to know a good player when you see one. I've never once said that Paul Deese was a god or anything close to it. I'm just simply saying that he is the best player so far at ER. And then everyone wants to cry about all of his problems. You and your teamates should have come together to try and help out another teamate not sit back and critcize him for every little thing he does wrong and maybe you all wouldn't have had any problems. And for him runnin alot he had to most of the time because the line couldn't block for 2 seconds to give him enough time. And until you know what its like to line up at qb and to look at the defense knowing theres someone like Hank Simpson ready to tear your head off then you should keep your mouth shut about him having to scramble.
#58
lmao if u only knew there buddy

thats all i can say.

I would say to all of your bickering about one kid who played only one year is this. The school has only been around 3 years and not had a lot of succes yet. Before that Elkhorn City wasn't that good, so the talent is just now lurking through. I would say that before we can talk about who is th ebest at a school, maybe it should have afew more seasons under it's belt. Just my opinion. Hate to see people down grade players especially when that is against the rules. But more importantly on a public forum. It seems a bit childish and proves nothing. Probably just state who is the best and go on. Opinions may vary but let it go at that.
