Congrats JC. I wasn't there. But, I was listening and Man what a game. Triple OT! 6 total players fouled out.

Was a great game with 6 players fouling out. To send the game into 25 hit a last sec. 3. And the hero for P-Burg had to be Jody Tackett with around 20-25 pts. 12 in free throws. Not sure on any other stats reply if you know. But anyway
Good Effort Blackcats.
And I hate to say it Congrats Eagles.

Great game to attend tonight, Congrats Eagles!
Both teams come out really hot, Prestonsburg had an 11 point lead at halftime but JC played some amazing defense in the second half to stay in the game. #55 and Ian Welch just killed Prestonsburg tonight with offensive rebounds and put backs, I'm sure they both had double-doubles. There were times in the game where the refs were letting the players play a little too much. It wouldn't shock me if there where over 50 fouls in this game.
Prestonsburg had the game won twice (at the end of the fourth quarter and a two point lead in the 1st OT), but the Eagles hit two last second shots to keep the game going, but when Taylor Clark fouled out it really killed the Blackcats because there primary scorer Jordan Hall had to bring it up the floor and try to make that pass, but offensive rebounds really hurt the Blackcats the most tonight... Again Congrats Johnson Central!

Conley 21 points 22 rebounds
Welch 25 points 12 rebounds
#55 Conley made the three at the end of regulation to send the game into OT. Blankenship came up huge also sending the game into a second OT with a drive to the basket. CONGRATS EAGLES!

Blankenship was MVP in my opinion. Heck, the whole team was MVP worthy. Big win for the Eagles.
P-burg showed a lot of heart!! Keep it up guys, come tourney time you'll be a tuff out!!

I thought Prestonsburg would do a better job of keeping Welch and Conley off the boards. PHS is generally a phyiscal team and likes to bang, but I think JC got the better of them tonight. JC has seemed to get back on the winning track by beating two straight 58th district teams after losing 4 in a row. Prestonsburg seems to be struggling at the moment losing 4 of their last 5.

Prestonsburg was physical, but touch fouls were being called all night and got Nathaniel Stephens in fouled trouble, and thats what killed Prestonsburg. But Ian Welch and the Conley boy are two very good leapers, seemed like they where a whole hand higher each time they went for a rebound for JC.

HA what Pburg team have you seen this year? I have watched them 4 or 5 times and they don't rebound the ball particularly well which it is beyond me why. Between Stephens, Burchett, Rodebaugh and now Gearheart they should have no problem winning the battle of the boards.

True, Burchett is our best rebounder though. I think Gearheart will become a better leaper once his ankle is 100%.

I'm working with him on that, but he does get fouled a lot and its never called.

Well, they lost the rebounding battle tonight, but in most games I've seen them play this year they have rebounded the ball well.

Thats not up to you though, that is JD's job. That's why he gets paid the money. One particular instance that stands out to me is early in the 3rd OT when it was two on one and Burchett is wide open and rather then dishing it off, he takes it on in when the defender had already committed to him and ends up getting blocked. He is a 3 point shooter, and he is not fast enough to beat ANYONE off the dribble and even if he does he ends up getting it blocked. I know I sound like I am bashing the kid, but I really have nothing personally against Jordan Hall at all. I've heard he's a pretty good kid. But sometimes people just need to look themselves in the mirror and realize what they are and are not capable of and then decide if you are going to do what is the best for the team. And Blackcat_Student i'm not directing this at you, but I don't want anyone to throw at me how many points he is averaging a game, because if you shoot the ball enough , you will score points.
And another thing while we are talking about JD. Why does Steven Patrick not play more? I watched him in the Jenny Wiley Tourney and thought he did a good job playing defense and rebounding, and didnt have a bad touch around the rim. I do not understand , nor have i ever understood Coach Crisps methods of madness.

Steven is probably the laziest basketball player on the team and he is not strong enough to box out anyone in the 15th. Steven is pretty good on blocking shots, and thats basically it. Also, he is not used to team-orientated basketball. He needs someone to work with him on his size, but he does have a lot of potential.
He is taking 6th period weightlifting with James Derrossett now, so that should help him get more bulk.

I just watched the replay on channel 2. Pburg IMO gave this game away. This team must learn to rebound. They dont follow thier shots at all. One fundamental bright spot on this team is Taylor Clark's Defense; he is relentliss and also makes wonderful passes. It looks to be a l o n g season if some of the problems are not addressed. Johnson Central would not give up and got the W. Congrats

Well I guess the Jenny Wiley Tourney was just an aberration for him then, because he didn't seem very lazy then. He seemed like he was at least willing to battle with people. Guess he's just like about half of the guys on the team now.

We really haven't been able to rebound well the whole year. I agree that Taylor Clark seems to get other players involved, and that really helps Jordan and Michael out, a lot.

I think it would be very beneficial to have the team watch a couple of thier game films. Sometimes a kid will just "spectate" instead of "participate" . They do seem to stand and watch while the other team crashes the boards. Hopefully things will improve as the seasons goes along.

We've stood around a lot this season, but the guards are moving around more now, especially in the last two games. But if your referring to the overtime portion of the game, then I don't think they wanted to make any contact with anyone because each of the five players on the court had 3 and 4 fouls each.

That has nothing to do with blocking people out, 4 fouls or no fouls...

Did you see how the refs were calling the game? Given that they should have tried but I'm sure that they where worried about getting fouled out.
BTW, check your PM's.

Any stats from this game?

From what I remember
Burchett 20 points 8 boards (i think)
Jordan Hall 14 points 7 rebounds
Josh Rodebaugh 10 points 12 boards
don't recall any other stats right now.
