Who has a chance on winning the 14th?
#1
Does anyone have have a chance on winning other than breathitt ...consider that it is at powell this year
#2
The top teams are breathitt, powell, kcc and pcc
#3
i figured we needed to start a thread on it cause we were using the powell estill thread
#4
Breathitt, KCC, Powell, and PCC
#5
Powell plays KCC next saturday ... the standings are for the top four Breathitt, KCC, Powell, and PCC so i would have to agree with Benchwarmer .... I looked at stats from a couple of years ago this is the first time powell has been ranked in the top 4 and evan for a mater of fact over PCC..The pirates are doing really good

The region may be the weakest in the state, but still, someone has to represent it. I think Breathitt will defend their title. I just hope the 14th doesn't draw the 11th region, or one of the other power regions. It could get ugly.

The same sort of thing got stated last year...then Breathitt went to Bowling Green and played Iriquois really tough, actually leading well into the third quarter, if I remember right.

Here are some numbers on Powell County. The combined record of the teams in their nine victories: 50 - 70. The combined record of the teams in their five losses: 47 - 27. I will leave conclusions to each observer.

#10

As a basketball fan in general, why would I hate Powell County? Why would it tick me off unless my world be very small? Powell is clearly the best team in the 56th District at this point. I am not suggesting otherwise; I am looking at their wins and losses, doing a bit of comparative analysis, and drawing some conclusions. How is that "hating"?

What do you mean, you all?

i just don't understand why everyone has to put powell down and say they can't win region ,yes i agree with all of you it will be har to get past the power house but if they work there ***** off they can do it....Powell is a very well rounded team we have played them 2 times this year and they have beaten us both times... they can shot from anywhere #32 and #51 can out the ball in the hoop from anywhere down low .... I think they can make a diff. for the 56th

It's not everyone. It's just a couple of people that are trying to get under your skin. A guess what? It's working. Let it go and cheer for your team.

I assure you that I am not trying to "get under" anyone's skin. I said that Powell is clearly the best team in the 56th right now. I suggested that their schedule has not been the toughest. I offered that Breathitt Co. was a much superior team. I think there is a clear difference between hating and expressing an opinion.

I hear what you are saying and I also agree with you.

In the RPI system (NCAA), strength of schedule and quality wins mean more than actual record. JBS would have a crappy RPI.

This is not the NCAA.

You are correct...and had the point not really have been that JBS has played a woefully weak schedule, your point wouldn't have been so nonsensical.
