OK here's one for all the old timers out there, how many remember the original ABA which existed from 1967-1976, where the 3 pt. line and the red, white and blue basketball originated. Go to the link below and check out the teams history, former ABA players who made it big in the NBA. The Kentucky Colonels won the ABA championship during the 74-75 season. Some former NBA greats who played in the ABA were,

Things like the ABA just disappeared. Many talented men played the game and SHOULD be remember...

I've always heard of it and watched footage and i have one of the red white & blue balls autographed from the guys of the Kentucky team when the won it.

I read one the site that after the Kentucky Colonels won the ABA Championship for the 74-75 season they challenged the NBA champions Golden State Warriors to a "World Series of Basketball" with the winner to take a million dollar purse. The Warriors and the NBA refused the challenge. Then again after the 75-76 season the ABA Champs New York Nets challenged the NBA champs Boston Celtics to a winner take all game with the proceeds going to the 76 olympic team and Boston and the NBA refused.
