I don't know how many of you have seen "The Da Vinci Code", but this movie really interests me. Now if you look at the picture of "The Last SUpper", there is a knife close to Mary. Is this real or not??

Dan Brown has admitted that his book is a work of fiction, but based on many conspiracy theories and real-life groups (secret-societies).

It's interesting, but like the author has said, the book is fiction.

What interests me is how bent out of shape some "hellfire and brimstone" nuts got when the book and the movie were big in the cinemas and bookstores. My GOD people... it's a fictional work, a story. I'm far from being a "hellfire and brimstone nut", and I have watched the movie. I thought it was a very interesting movie and actually enjoyed it. But, movies like this is a tool of satan, that he will use to put little doubts into peoples minds. For example: Bluegrassbala stated "it kinda gets you wondering and thinking beyond though". That is what satan's intent was, to get you thinking something other than the Word of God (bible). The Bible states that satan is a worthy advisary and is as a roaring lion, going about seeking whom he may devour. I believe that a person has to be prepared for war. Our preparation consist of studing God's word and knowing it, because it is our sword in the battle against satan.

So anything that takes us away from reality, causes doubt or makes us question things is against God's word? Quote: "it kinda gets you wondering and thinking beyond though". Beyond what? My point is Evolution, Geology, Biology and any other form of science or the study of anything fit into this category. I was raised in church, my mother a sunday sdchool teacher, I still believe and am thankful for what I was taught while young BUT god gave us the abililty to learn, educate ourselves and reason. Thsese things seperate us from animals. With those gifts god has given us I believe we as a human race should have the ability to seperate what is fictional and what is TRUE. If we begin labeling fictional works that deem themselves fictional works as anything other than what themselves claim to be fiction then the next step will be bookburning. The Nazi symbol will follow soon after.
If we aren't intelligent enough to choose between truth and fiction it's not the book, movie or thesises fault it is ours. Another one of the DEVILS tools is ignorance, I feel that is why GOD gave us any and all of the above mentioned skills: Reason, abililty to learn,etc.

the book is a lot better than the movie. it goes into a lot more detail.. I was raised in church, and I know more about the bible than a lot of people, and the da vinci code made some thoughts cross my mind. a lot of what ifs. the book is fiction based on a lot of things that did happen. as far as the paintings go. well think bout it. leo da vinci wasn't at the last supper, but for some reason people base that painting like its an actual depiction of what happened. its not. most scientific studies try to disprove the bible. but again, we can just base science on things man has figured out. nothing can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt when it comes to history. but the christian people have their faith, and scientists have theirs, things aren't going to change, and I honestly believe that soon enough everyone will know the truth
