Chris Simon suspended for 30 games...watch the video

The Islanders Chris Simon was suspended for 30 games after deliberately stepping on another player with his skate. Several people are upset and feel the suspension should be longer, if not a lifetime ban.

This is very dangerous as he was stepping on his achilles tendon.

The opposing player, Jarkko Rutuu, was lacerated and is now suffering from infection on the cut.

This is Simon's 8th suspension since joining the NHL and was just coming off a 25-game suspension from last season where he hit an opposing player in the face with his stick.

Sheww I seen this on ESPN this morning and couldn't believe what I had seen. This Simon guy should be banned from hockey. Only reason he is out there is to hurt someone and the videos show it.

He pretty much will be. There's just a lot of games in a NHL season.

I really think the Islanders will probably be letting him go as well, so I don't know if he will be back, or if he'll sign with another team.

I think he should be banned also. your right only reason he is out there in to hurt other players

Simon was an enforcer on the team. Some people call them 'goons."

His job was basically to play defense and to knock the crap out of people. He was also the type of player that would take up for another player if they were given a cheapshot.

Simon seems to have problems controlling his anger. I agree he should be banned, not for the two incidents above, but for all 8 suspensions he's received over his career.

It's obvious this guy needs help and now is a better time than any to give it to him.
