Cox played great for JBS and Collins played very well on the defenive end but didnt get a lot of touches on the offense end.
For the Knights Stewart had a big game and was the leading scorer. Lex Cath didnt hardly miss the 1st half and came out very hot.
Congrats Knights and good effort JBS!

This is the norm for JBS...

wow closer game then alot of people probably thought, congrats lex cath

Looks like JBS put up a good effort... Congrats Knights!

This game says ALOT for JBS IMO! Not a JBS fan but a Tate Cox fan. To play Catholic to a 7 point loss speaks volumes!
12-14-2007, 10:25 PM
typical JBS. roll up on the gimme's and then face a solid team and not prepared for the competition. why does Cox always rise in the big games. because he is the best player on JBS. Cox played well again in the crunch
12-14-2007, 10:41 PM
Congrats Cath. IMO the Cox kid is the best on that team.
12-14-2007, 10:42 PM
IMO, there IS NO DOUBT! Just hate seeing him only get 12-16 points a game when he could easily average 30-35!

You're right. But, he isn't a gun and is smart. He is willing to give up the rock to someone else with a better look, thing is they have to finish it.
12-14-2007, 11:38 PM
But he could get a smart 30. That is the thing with Tate, never gets rattled, is as fundamental as it gets, and will get most of his points quietly.
12-14-2007, 11:41 PM
I agree again.

I think IMO that Collins should get the ball alot more than he does. I mean the kid is 6'10, why not feed him the ball?

Pink Flamingo Wrote:I think IMO that Collins should get the ball alot more than he does. I mean the kid is 6'10, why not feed him the ball? That is true, they should. One of the Biggest guys in KY HS Basketball this year. They wont work with him and use him right. Cox is the smartest player in Eastern Ky IMO but what it all boils down to is that Clark Stepp is 1st, Clint Stepp 2nd, and the rest of the team next.
It would just be horrible for JBS to use their players right and win as a team.

Congrats lex cath......good game tho by JBS
12-15-2007, 02:12 AM
THE KNIGHTS beat one of the top ranked teams in the nation this week also.
12-15-2007, 03:32 AM
Cox is great, Stepp drives to the goal and gets swatted every time, has a broke shot. I just don't see how they can't understand to give Cox the ball if they wanna win in top ten state games.
12-15-2007, 09:44 AM
Because it is all about getting noticed when colleges Really scout you. See the thing is, top colleges aren't going to scout you and could care less if you drop 30-40 a game on little class A teams in the mountains. They look at you from how you play against top teams. Trust me, they notice players like Tate Cox, everyone knows how the program is ran at JBS and has for soem time now. He had achance to go elsewhere and didn't, so that is why I stay out of it. JBS is a very good team and almost beat Lex. Cath, so they must know alot more than I know, lol. Congrats once again Catholic and best of luck JBS!

I agree with alot of things that have been said on this post but dont hate JBS because of what some people in charge do. I am a JBS/East Ky fan and I agree that COX, Collins, and Short are exploited on this team. I do understand why alot of people on here dont like JBS but is that fair to the other kids on the team like those mentioned and also the other on the team that dont have any control over the situation. I was extremely dissapointed last night at the shot selection of some players and it reminded me of the last couple of years. I thought that JBS had moved past that and would play team ball like they had more this year. JBS has a tremendous talent in Cox and most people know he is the best ball player on this team. Any coach would love to have 2 kids on their team with the size and potential of Collins and Short and they got 3 passes combined to them last night. I hope that JBS learns and involves the other players on the team...

Again, and I stress, ITS NOT THE KIDS WE DON'T LIKE!!! ITS THE ADMIN!! I happen to hate Wal-Mart, but I have family that works for the company. I don't dislike my family, I hate the company they work for. The JBS admin control a team that is built around a mediocre player who will never be as good as Tate Cox. So, the team that JBS puts on the floor, I do not care for, not because of the parts of the team, but the team as a whole.
12-15-2007, 01:46 PM
Good try JBS, you played a hard-fought game. I also watched the 2nd game and watched how Clay Co. involved EVERYONE ON THE TEAM and jumped to a 7 point lead on Scott Co. It just made me realize how much talent and potential was being wasted at JBS. If the coaches at JBS would stop being so bone-headed and distrubute the ball evenly the sky would be the limit for this team. If they don't, then i predict another first round loss at rupp if they can even make it there.
12-15-2007, 03:49 PM
If it's the admins you don't like then stop trashing the players by name.
12-15-2007, 04:14 PM
Congrates Knights, and good job jbs, u kept it close.

I was rather proud of JBS. I thought they played a very respectable game against one of the top teams in the state.
And on another note, LexCath seems to get a lot of milage out of transfers. This Sanderson kid is the total package. I've never looked at LexCath as a traditional high school team. They're more like an All Bluegrass Region-Area All Star team.

Were just saying that 2 players that play on JBS team isnt the best players in the state. Why you ask? Because certain people in Knott Co and Eastern Ky want to label them as that. Your wondering that they must be good since they score alot? Let me take Scott County and play Riverside, it would be a blow out. That dont mean they can play Basketball at a D1 college.

Good showing by JBS!

Tate Cox is a great player. But if Tate Cox is so unhappy then why hasn't he left. Rumors from this summer had him going either to Hazard, Knott Central or even Shelby Valley. But guess what he is still at JBS.
Tate will get his chance to shine this year and next.

Stepp can and will play at a D1 school. Let's remember D1 includes Morehead, EKU and WKU, etc. Why all the negative energy against the STEPPS?
