I might be mistaken, but P-burg doesn't have much size at all, right?

The score doesnt explain this game at all. The blackcats was within 4-7 points the hole game and was down only 7 points with 4 minutes to go just got in foul trouble.

I think Adams has really improved from what I can tell this year.

The game was much closer than the score indicates.
Both teams come out and played aggressive, and it kept the scoring down in the first half, but in the second half both teams went off offensively, and while Nathaniel Stephens was on the bench with foul trouble it really hurt the Blackcats down low because Devon became automatic in the paint. What can you say about Jordan Hall, if he didn't earn anyones respect tonight as one of the better shooters in the mountains, than you must not know basketball, he lit it up. But Pikeville got a lot of open looks while Prestonsburg was playing the 2-3 zone, and the like any good team, they would convert. In the end Prestonsburg shot a lot of desperation shots and Pikeville converted on easy layups, which led to the margin of victory. Congrats Panthers, hope to see you down the road.

Is Bobby Hughes out for the year for the blackcats?

Yes. I just wished that injury would have never happened. He really could have changed the outcome of this game tonight.

Jeez...Pikeville with the pounding!
12-08-2007, 06:12 PM
I dont think it was a pounding, it was a closer game than what the final score shows. B-burg has a better team than what I thought they would have. Two players in double digit scoring. It just looked like they ran out of gas in the 4th. That could be the football in some of them still. They didnt look to be in basketball shape yet.

As a sprectator at the game, I was much impressed with the play of Adams. He looks as if he might have his breakout year and hopefully lead the panthers back to the Expo

Exciting game, wasn't it? A lot of fast action up and down the court. P-Burg looked really good. I think both teams will improve as the season goes on. Tell Jody I'm glad to see him back on the court. He did good job.

Yeah, it was a very exciting game, I thought the refs should have let the boys play a little more because too many touch fouls where called. Pikeville showed me that they where a very good team, and I think if they continue to play great defense then they should be able to make a lot of noise this year in the region. Prestonsburg has the offense, but if our players where in better shape we wouldn't have had to have played that 2-3 zone, and could have kept playing man. And if we could've stayed in man, then I think that could have went either way.
I'll tell Jody... What did you think about Jordan Hall?
12-08-2007, 09:42 PM
the crowd made great noise to top it off.
Thats next to the #1 noise game ive seen. SV at home 2006.

Sometimes they let them play, but other times they called touch fouls. I was very, very, very impressed by Jordan's shooting. He took a couple of practice shots and then he was pretty much money. I just watched the tape and Jordan took a lot of shots with two or three peoples hands in his face and it never fazed him.
I was impressed by Jordan but not surprised. I've been watching Jordan play since 5th grade, he's always been a standout. As for Jody, I helped coach him in 8th grade. They're both fine boys.

Don't mean to be smart, but it's pretty much a given that the Panthers will back at the Expo for the regional tournament. The top two teams from the 59th district will be moving on, which should be SV and Pikeville barring some huge shocker (sorry, ER).
