Congrats Panthers on opening the season with a win...I know Wolfe Co. may have not been the toughest team, but im sure it was a tough place to play...

Congrats Panthers
I'm interested to see how Pikeville's big man did in this game
any stats?

Pikeville had 4 players with double digit scoring, two others with 9. Sloppy game by both teams. Wolfe Co. will be a better team this year than they was the last couple years. Pikeville started out flat and Wolfe Co. started out on fire. Second quarter things pretty much turned around. I like the way the game was called. The refs let them play both ways. Good hard played game by both teams.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

I figured it to be a lop sided affair but its still early for the Panthers... Congrats Pikeville!

Wolfe County has a quick team, not that big, but quick. Pikeville definately flat in the first quarter. The game turned around when Pikeville took out their bigger players and went to, basically, 5 guards. Matched up much better. Honaker will be a force to be reckoned with when he gets the football out of him. Nice opening win on the road for the Panthers.

Anybody got stats for the game?

When you run a guard oriented offense its hard for a big man to play well. If they don't use Adams any better it could be a very long season.

You are 100% correct.

You must put the ball in Adams' hands, no one in this area can stop him, being so big.

Putting the ball in Adams hands......now that's not always easy. No team is going to allow another player to walk up and hand it to him. I agree that no one in this area can stop him, no one but him. When he does get the ball, and they were feeding it to him, he has to put it in the basket, otherwise, it is pointless. I'm not dogging him in anyway. He has progressed leaps and bounds. If he were more aggressive and stronger going to the basket, that would make a world of difference!
