They are good athletes just not D-1. Belfry and Lex Cath both had LB's that were much better than they were.

Wil Rice is a sophomore from Russell. You will hear his name for the next 2 years following this year. He starts as a linebacker now and will get better as he goes.
Romans 14:11
It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "

What is his size right now? Do you think he has any growing left in him?
I was one of those kids that hit their growth spurt late. From my freshman to my sophomore season I grew 6 inches and gained 50 lbs.

WOW, since Tim an Ted are so much better than everybody in the state, maybe they should change the rule an let them go straight to the NFL...

But he is a defensive end, not a linebacker.

Yes he does. But I think he's out of position at DE.
#43
The BEST linebackers in the state? No, but the best in the mountains are by far Belfry's Dustin May and Johnson Central's Chase Richardson & Nathanial Dials, period.
JC's linebackers have played by far the toughest schedule and excelled against every team they have played when Dials & Richardson have been paired together, Dials has also played alot of DE. May is simply a great player! The twins failed in their attempts when they played REAL competition, Blowouts I think.

Tim shouldn'nt even be mentioned in this thread

A Decent Lineman Wrote:Bart Teague and Jon Howard from Hazard get downhill to the ball better than most linebackers in the Eky area. Tim and Ted from Pikeville are good too...
im not sure who it is but #8 for hazard is the best ive played against. Tim and Ted are good, But this kid would dominate them

Not all good players are names you hear a lot.

kyr450 Wrote:Well they both played the Belfry game, what happened to them then??? They got ran on any way Dustin or Ivan wanted to... Just imagine what Howard or Jones would have done if they had been playing against Tim an Ted...
Good thing it was Tim and Ted's fault that the line couldn't give any help by penetrating any. They can only do so much, none of the other nine on the field helped any, it's not just them.

ComeFlyWithMe Wrote:Tim and Ted are nothing compared to guys like Mayo, or last year the Tackett boy from JC, now he was one hell of a linebacker. And I agree with the post earlier, it would have been funny to see Jones and Howard run the ball on this years Pikeville team, Tim and Ted couldn't touch them two even if they were at full strength.

Please. Tim and Ted are leaps and bounds ahead of Mayo. Not even close in terms of athleticism. I'm no psychic so I can't predict where they will end up, but what I can attest to is that they are both great young men. Yes sir, no sir types of kids. Until you get to know them on a personal level, don't judge them. I agree, they aren't All-World linebackers who will dominate the SEC or anything, but they are great young men. Good luck to them in everything they do. They have earned every bit of attention they have received and everything they will get in the near future.

I agree they've worked their behinds off!

Yea great young men, thats why they lead the state in personal fouls... They are punks on an off the field, I know first hand... There attitude will get them no where... Now about them being leaps an bounds ahead of Dustin May??? What kind of drugs are you taking??? The boy is flat out STRONG, an is also a 3 sport standout... But your right he isnt athletic at all, he should just give it up... Rolleyes Rolleyes ...

tim and Ted do lose their heads on the field some, but I don't see it fair to take a shot at their personal life that I have never heard of them doing anything. They are both good kids who often get caught up in the moment and act on impulse. They will have to learnt to control that at the next level, but off the field they are physically and mentally ready.

Please re-read my post and the one I was questioning. The post I was replying to clearly stated that Tim and Ted were nothing compared to guys like Mayo (John Michael Mayo, who graduated last year), not Dustin May. Mayo was a great leader, but in terms of athleticism he is nowhere close to the Honakers. I never said Dustin May was a bad player because I know better. He is just as physically talented as Tim and Ted if not more so. And don't even get me started on people who judge Tim and Ted based on the two or three games a year they get to see them play. I will be the first to tell you that they do lose their cool at inopportune times (which is a MAJOR flaw in their game), but to judge these kids' character based on the fact that they are extremely passionate about the game that will more than likely provide them with a college education is just ignorant. I don't know what kind of experiences you have had with these young men, and maybe you have only seen the bad side of them, but if they are such terrible young men on and off the field, are you that much better than them sitting at home on your computer bashing them every chance you get? If you've got a problem with them, either be a man and deal with it or suck it up and move on...don't whine about it on an online football forum. I'm sorry for getting off subject, but this is an issue that really burns me up. All these kids are great players or they wouldn't be mentioned in this thread. This whole site would be a much more informative and enjoyable place if everyone could just lay off the personal attacks and leave the discussions strictly to sports.

And it better get to the point where the personal attacks are kept to a minimum.

This is an opinion based sports forum. Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions but when the personal attacks start it just makes the site look bad. Maybe it's time to start handing out a few suspensions to people that keep straying off topic?

Bridgewater from Campbellsville is the best I have seen this year.
#58
The best LB's in the state are up north and in the Lex/Lou areas.
#59
Not a person attack just putting my 2 cents, an i have seen pikeville play every game this year, either in person or on film... This is my last post on the topic, TIM an ted are not the best LB's in the state, they are not even the best LB's in pike county, period...

Belfry's dustin may he's holding down that pirate team
