For any candidate to win a general election they must appeal to the Independent voters. No candidate can win a general election based soley on Republican votes, Democratic votes, female votes, African American votes or White Male votes. Right now....Hillary is the clear frontrunner. But its still almost 3 months until Iowa and let us not forget how everyone was proclaiming Howad Dean the nominee in '04 at this point. John Kerry ended up winning Iowa and never looked back.

You don't think Bush has weakened our military? Recruitment is at an all time low. So low in fact that the standards have been lowered for entry. Instead of having a military filled with the best America has to offer it's now full of Criminals who 10 years ago would have been laughed out of the recruiters office. The military is stretched way beyond its capability. Sure Bush is spending Trillions of dollars in Iraq but most of that money is going to the Civilian Contractors.

I agree with you, unfortunately the US has become something like the world's older, cooler, brother. I know that it sucks to pay tax dollars to foriegn aid projects, but these projects help us to gain allies throughout the world. Also, the US being a society of capitalism we have the belief that someone can rise up and become something greater through their own will. Historically churches played the role of giving aid to Americans, but that role changed during the depression when most churches had little money themselves. maybe to help out our fellow people politicians that raise 30+ million dollars in campaign funds, could give a large portion of that to people in need.
