This is by far the dumbest post of the year. You are out of your mind thinking any coach would turn a kid of this talent down.

I agree with SEO4, who in the basketball world especially in the 15th region would turn down this calliber of a player? That would just be plain stupid. I personally hope an already fairly loaded Pikeville team adds this athlete just because they will be great to watch!!! Already looking forward to next season with teams like Shelby Valley, Paintsville, and Pikeville all capable of running away with the region and even making noise in the state tourny! Certainly going to be what I think will be one of the funnest years to watch 15th region basketball.

I think what bball fan meant was the exact thing I said earlier. He would RUIN the team chemistry that is already there.

Well, I think I hear something about a 6'8" kid coming eathier to Paintsville or Pikeville every year... and guess what, it never happens!

Heh, that's pretty funny.
Incidentally, I will have to agree with most of the others on here and say that any coach around here would love to have a talent like him on their teams. Players like that don't come around that often in the mountains.

Does anyone have any concrete answers that he will or will not be coming next year? If he does alot of things can go right for Pikeville (talent through the roof), however alot of things can go wrong (like throwing off the team Chemistry). I guess it never hurts to have a 3 star recruit join your team. That is pretty wild to say!

Heard thru the grapevine that this kid will end up at Rose Hill.

probably a good descison for the kid

Ruin the team chemistry, ruin the team chemistry, ruin the team chemistry. Why so quick to judge have you guys seen him play? I kno its just summer ball but i watched the kid play with pikeville and he was a very nice fit. They played very well together and won every game that he was there with them including handing Tates Creek there first loss of the summer.

Nope, ain't seen him play, that's just usually what happens when you get a transfer in, not mention a guy of his caliber.

All I know is, Devon Adams looked good in them high lights. He is already 100% improved from last year. This Pikeville will be very dangerous with or without the new guy.

Apparently he played on Pikeville's summer team, as per the highlights on the other thread. If this is the case, I would think it's got to be a near lock that he is coming, why else would he come all the way up from Georgia and play on a summer team in Pikeville if he and his mom weren't moving here? If he was likely to stay in Georgia, or move somewhere else for that matter, wouldn't he have played on the summer team there?

I still don't see why he would've decided to play on Pikeville's summer team if he didn't plan on going there. Why not any of the other teams that were at Transy at the time?

From what I've HEARD he contacted someone from Pikeville first after his mom applied for a job onlie.. but i have yet to hear any solid concrete proof of anything yet lol. So I guess we will see but it has been a while so I assume he would have known if his mom go the job by now?

OK, I guess that makes sense. So when does he have to be enrolled by in order to play, does it have to be by the beginning of the school year or could he still play if he moved in say, October?

So you can join a team in mid-season if you move there? I would've guessed that you at least had to be there for the beginning of the season. But then I really have no idea what the KHSAA's current rules are for that situation...

If you move into another state or another district during the season and the KHSAA clears you then you can play. You usually have to have a legit change in address into that district though.

If so he's a real all-star.

He held his own against everyone they played this summer. He is holding his own in Pikeville Colleges open gym.

Why, so you can see them be crushed?

I dont see Paintsville getting crushed, but I do see them, Paintsville, lacking on the scoreboard at the end of the game.

Well I hate to sound to cliche but, Paintsville just has to much talent. I just don't think Pikeville can beat them plain and simple. Paintsville is to fundamentally solid and play old school basketball. Pikeville just won't do it. I think this year we will all finally see the great Paintsville basketball team that these boys have definitely been capable of being.
