Know the Cats Pause is a couple of months away but, based on what everyone has coming back and from Post Season play, the team rankings could appear like this:
1. Pike Central - Lowe returns after a good experience in state tourney.
2. Belfry - Regional runners-up could be chasing the Lady Hawks but these two district rivals will have two big regular season showdowns before heading to Districts.
3. Johnson Central - Like in softball, large school that just reloads each season.
4. Shelby Valley - Coach Rodney Rowe's squad will feature Senior Sally Roberts. enough said.
5. Magoffin County - Still think there is still enough left in the tank for Coach Miller to make another run at the regional title. Ashley Hall is going to be a good player.
6. Lawrence County - The new girls in the region and like J.C. a lot to girls to pick from.
7. Betsy Layne - Group will be looking for their fourth district title in the past 5 years.
8. East Ridge - Coach Spears takes over a very talented group of girls. Could have been ranked higher yet, going to take some time at the Ridge.
9. Paintsville - All A winners returns Jessica Russell and Lauran Carroll..
10. Prestonsburg - Look for this group to push Betsy Layne in the 58th.
11. Phelps - Who ever takes this position will have all players returning and a group that continues to play hard after growing up in a tough 60th District.
12. Sheldon Clark - Another school that has yet to announce a new coach.
13. South Floyd - 58th team trying to move up.
14. Allen Central - Sara Johnson will return with a inexperience group.

Pikeville beat Betsy Layne, East Ridge (once), South Floyd (twice), and Allen Central last year. They lost no one. They have to be included there somewhere.........

Yep, some where around the 7-9 position. Other than that slight over sight, it looks pretty accurate.

Apologize !!!! for leaving Pikeville off the list. Should be a good year for the Lady Panthers. Sara Davis and Johnson should be two of the better players.
Pikeville would have been listed as my Number 9 team ahead of Painstville and Prestonsburg. Everyone esle would have dropped down a spot to complete the field.
Again sorry for mistake.
